bartosz.t
The Newswire on RockstarGames site i no longer uploaded for a long time ... So what is the problem ??? I dont understand this wierd strategy from R* How long we must wait again for some info... They are very self-confident that gtaV will sell millions of copy with minimum marketing ?? And they realy dont care ... What are your thoughts about this silence ... ?
AZAZEL
It would be insane to market it heavily at this time, seven full months from the release.

Frantz Fuchs
It's GTA, they could market the game for only a week and it will still sell millions. Don't expect any info soon. There's 7 months to go. I don't think we're gonna get anything until March/April.
r4in
I wouldnt expect anything till April-May. When the release comes closer, they'll start marketing the game, thats for sure.

Fuzzknuckles
They try to create the impression they are working hard. 16-18 hours days. That's what they'll be doing from now until release day. Seriously. And for a bunch of massive ingrates. Signatures are dumb anyway.

Andreas
Do you remember the info drought in the summer of 2012 and were you active on the forum during that time? If the answer of both questions is yes, then you should get used to it. That's another info drought that will last for months, probably until May or June. The sheep do not care that the owners are a bunch of incompetent clown shoes. As long as the sheep hear that bucket of food coming rattling, that's all the sheep care about and will come running come supper time. There needs to be an opposite/equal force out there. In other words, there needs to be a serious contender to GTA and I bet none of this crap would be going on. Clownstar can do whatever they want and they know it. We want a glitchy game, and we want it now! Ubisoft released AC3 with a lot of glitches and hardly everyone complained and said it was because all big companies are evil, dude. So then they obviously know what the f*ck they are doing, and if they feel a delay is necessary followed by marketing silence than I guess it truly is. You contradict yourself. Won't always be like this though, nothing lasts forever and its only a matter of time till other games start following the same concept of open world as RockStar. Probably following the sales of GTA V, large sales like that wont go unnoticed. At that point, when there are rival games that offer the same if not better experience than GTA, you can bet RockStar become more community focused to try keep the eye on them. Elothel
The curious thing is why is the newswire so silent in general. I mean normally when they didn't upload any new GTA V info, they would at least post some youtube links or warehouse crap. Now it feels like a ghost town. Adriaan
In 2007, after they delayed GTAIV, we didn't hear anything for four months. The silence broke with the box art unveil. The silence is probably a combination of the fact that we're in a quiet period now as a result of the delay, plus the fact that Max Payne 3 and all its DLC is already out. There was the multiplayer event post, of course, but what else is there really to post? Sure, you could say plenty of stuff for GTAV, but maybe they've decided to do a quiet period similar to the one after GTAIV's delay? Would make sense to also delay their marketing plans with the game being delayed.
I Shot The Sheriff
I don't expect nothing whatsoever until late march... so many days without updating the newswire is weird tho.
Above
The PR department probably enjoys a winter break after the delay. They might have decided that the release date announcement deserves some exposure and that any other kind of news would be unnecessary. If Sony didn't have the Playstation event on February 20th this would qualify as the most dull month ever in terms of news about anything.
Adriaan
Maybe they're waiting for Sony to announce the PS4 so that they can announce the PS4 version of GTAV, out this September? I mean, they can't announce a game for a platform that isn't announced yet - so they're just waiting for Sony to do the announcement this week? It's interesting that the event is in NYC, no? When Sony announced the PS3, it showed video footage of Sam Houser talking about the PS3. ...i kid, i kid... only tried to rustle the jimmies of a few people here but who knows!
