So, I'm really into vehicles and would just love more vehicular variety in a GTA. There are a few cars in IV that I love, but I see they will have successor in V. For example:

Sentinel

I honestly loved, some of the cars in IV and just wonder why R* can't just add instead of replace. Not only would this add to the variety, but in addition it would increase the realism. On the road, you do not just see the newest generation of Toyota Camry. You see the uglier last generation, the one before then, and so on.

It would just be better in my view. And I do not just want it because I don't want some awesome vehicles to be replaced, I would just love to see some older generations of certain vehicles. Not too many, but a little good amount.

-The Sentinel:

Michael's variant

The IV variant

A late 80's M3

-Schafter

TBoGT variant

IV's original variant

W140 S klasse

One that looks like the Vice City Admiral

-Turismo

458 Italia

IV's variant

Ferrari 355 or F40

-Infernus

IV's/V's variant

Lambo Diablo

Lambo Countach

So on and so on. So who would like this. Discuss...

Lock if need be.

Tbh I'd rather have different models. I'm not into vehicles so I guess I'd barely notice the difference between one generation and another. The same time, effort and disk space could be put into making completely different vehicles I guess.

Big car guy here and i'd love to have multiple generations of cars. especially lambos, ferraris, porsche's, aston martins, bmws, tuners, muscle cars, etc.

As long as the cars remain easy to distinguish.

This would be nice for a lot of brands of cars.

BMW, Mercedes, and more.

I think it would be useless for for example Porsches, because on the outside, all the porsches look almost the same.

I'd simply love this. As we know, the Buffalo is based off of the 2006-2009 Dodge Charger. It would also be excellent to see a car heavily based off of a 1969 Dodge Charger (maybe called the Buffalo Classic or something) Just an example. I really could see this happening.

No they don't. 1980s 911 looks very different to the current gen model.

I knew someone was going to correct me on that.

And, after looking it up, lol, no even they look the same as the current model.

Not necessarily. The overall shape and design is similar but it is relatively easy to tell one from the other.

Harder in a video game.

Ex Hellraiser

I put this in the wishlist loooong ago, thanks for bringing it back up.

It would be great to get in a 69 Camaro, and the name is shown as "'69 Vigero" (more or less GTA IV), in the bottom corner. Then find a brand new Camaro on the other side of town, hop in, and it will say "'11 Camaro." That would be awesome.

Coquette:

'67 Corvette

'07 Corvette (more or less GTA IV)

Bullet GT

'65 Ford GT40

'05 Ford GT (more or less GTA IV)

Sultan

'92 Lancer/Impreza

'12 Lancer/Impreza

You get the idea.

I would love it, as it could be a good way to add vehicles, while it wouldn't hurt gameplay in any way. Especially since they bothered to create full makes/models for GTA IV, why not add continuity? Show that the cars existed in the past, not just one simple iteration, or show that old cars exist in a newer form (Manana, Emporer).

EDIT:

III, VC, and SA existed in the same "universe," yet you would never see the Vice City iteration of a Banshee or Stinger in San Andreas. It would've added so much to that story, which spanned multiple games. Of course, you wouldn't have seen the new Infernus of III (2001) in Vice City (1986), but San Andreas came out after VC, and occured later chronologically (1992), so it would make sense that new cars from 1986 would still exist and drive around in 1992. R* could've capitalized so much on that opportunity, but didn't. This would be their best chance to do it.

Maybe the new one could be called a Buffalo, and the old one could be called a Dukes (you know, Dukes of Hazard)

That'd be sweet! oh, wait...

I see what you did there, hahaha.

The Dukes was also partually a '68 Pontiac Firebid.

No sh*t, I know that. You clearly missed the word "example".

A parody on Nissan's R series cars with Annis would be good.

Similarly the Nissan Z-car could be parodied.

If Dinka could have multiple NSX-inspired models, I wouldn't mind.

I would love this, however, I cannot see Rockstar implementing this in such a way that every car has multiple generations.

Instead, and what I genuinely hope occurs, is that cars which have significant models throughout history are replicated in the game.

For example, a modern day Mustang, and a 1968 Mustang, or even a few generations of the Nissan Skyline.

Well there are some updated versions of IV cars in V like a new Sentinel - it wouldn't exactly be hard for Rockstar to include both the new model and the one from IV, for example. They did have two generations of Faggio spawning in traffic in TBOGT. We could even have three generations of Super GT (IV one, the convertible from trailer 1 and the classic from trailer 2), depending on what Rockstar names them and if they carry over the IV variant.
