Oh god, people actually voted for arcade driving? Just remembering the driving in MCLA makes me sick.

/Gets into a car in GTA IV

//Can't keep the car in a straight line

///Most the cars control like butter so I crash into a wall every turn I do

////As soon as I crash into a car, Niko flies out the window, bobs along the street like a fish before finally stopping with little help left.

I like realism, but when it screws me up like it does in GTA IV then it's kind of bogus...

dozingoff.gif Dude just admit it, you're a sh*t driver. You lack the skills to drive in IV. How come when I drive, the cars handle heavenly, well most of the finer ones like Schafters, Sentinels, all of those performance cars,? How come I can turn corners while pressing on the gas yet still stay in lane hitting no one? How come I can brake well as well?

I know how to drive. wink.gif Simply by reading your post, you suck at driving. More,or less you probably take a Comet, drive as fast as you can without even thinking, amd then press the brake too late or too hard.

Learn how to drive, dude...

This.

It took me awhile, but when I finally figured out how much I was using the handbrake instead of the regular brakes, I just calmed down and started driving the way I do in real life. It makes police chases and races so much better when you have complete control of your car. You only get this with realistic handling. Now that I think about it, I crashed so much more in the III era games. In IV I'm a perfect wheelman. I NEVER crash(unless a ped hits me) and I drive very fast.

The other thing people do wrong is braking too hard. Once I learned to use the brakes, I would basically do the equivalent of slamming down on them. In real life, you have to be much more gradual with deceleration and it's the same for GTA IV. It's the reason it's hard to steer when you brake. If you brake properly, steering should be much better.

I wish I could give a driving class for the people who say they hate GTA IV's handling, because it's obvious they just don't get it. This is one of the reasons I'm hoping for driving school in GTA V. It would probably help a lot of people out.

Stupid poll, of course realistic driving is better than arcade driving. Arcade driving would be best suited for 4-10 year old kids.

TOO many people had the " drive full speed, break hard 1 second before the turn" mentality which is why MANY crashed and the same people, well some of them, were just too stubborn and IMO stupid to adapt to the new, and frankly MUCH MUCH MUCH better, physics.

The satisfaction of breaking at the right time and turning properly and controlling a car almost perfect was similar to getting a..... 25 kill streak in COD without the use of hacks or kill streaks tounge.gif ( or kill that super hard boss in dark souls)

It felt great, you knew you were better than that person skill wise, it felt great knowing that practising a little can result in a massive advantage on-line ( winning races, getting away from people) etc...

This is something NOT seen in any other open world game because the driving requires no skill, is effortless and is ridiculously boring because its too easy.

The realistic driving that GTA IV had was amazing. I swear I must of gotten about 100+ hours of replay value alone from just driving around aimlessly.

Saints Row, for example, had sh*t driving. There was pretty much no fun to be had with it. Where's the fun challenge when you have overly-sharp turning, instant breaking, and cars that basically feel weightless? ph34r.gifph34r.gif

sometimes. you look very strange. somewhat smiling. a little vain. saying not today.
