why do other gangs attack even when not in green?

Does anyone know of a script/mod that disables the gangs from confronting you? I want the gangs to ignore me, as of now they will run up to you and ask where you're from triggering the Yes/No response from CJ. Yes being a shootout/fight and No being left alone. However I just want to be ignored by them.

Using GTA SA savegame editor https://www.paulinternet.nl/?page=sa you can disable the gang wars.

If you aren't afraid of editing some data files, then you can try my modifications. Read the README first, and before that, make a backup of your entire data folder, so once you're satisfied with the altered behavior, you can go back to the normal GTA SA. https://bitbucket.org/arielsbecker/gta-sa-modbehavior/branches/

Sorry, posted a link that wasn't quite friendly with beginners to git. This one actually shows the README; just scroll a little. It's written in Spanish, but any translator will do the trick for you.

 

Once you download the package for the branch you like (may I suggest “violentos”?), you can overwrite your data folder with the one you downloaded.

Inside data you'll find two txt files: PedEvents and Task ID. Inside Decision/Allowed you'll find several files; the relevant ones are RANDOM.grp, GangMbr.ped, m_though.ped, and a couple more. They contain some sort of comma-separated values that link events with reactions.

 

For example, for GangMbr, you'll see the events 36 and 37 (hate/dislike). 36,4,1000, then some numbers. This instructs the game to alert every gang member that's close to the group to perform certain action contained in the though.ped files (normally m_though), in their respective 36 and 37 lines. I just put a TaskID corresponding to a passive hassle, but you can put any kind of wild behaviour there (like gangs running and screaming just at the sight of your presence). You can also edit cops, and any other ped group!

 

Try the modded game first: you'll find that the gangs now only harass you verbally, even the Ballas. They will still defend themselves if you happen to fire a weapon in their proximity, but if you behave yourself, they will approach you, they will talk some crap, but past that, they will stay pacific.

 

Oh, try approaching some Ballas, Vagos or Rifas inside a car. See what happens. :)
