lil weasel
Free roaming dogs (off the lead) are fair game in some areas. There are places where rewards can be collected for 'wild' dogs, so I've heard. It's not like they are cute and cuddly cats.

Killing a dog here is punishable for up to 10 years jail time, plus fines. Also anyone with any smarts for a bow and arrow would know, he did not do this in self defense. How can a dog provoke someone from a distance? A bow cant be successfully shot up close.

The thing with animal cruelty is that punishments are so minimal, and a lot of people can get away with no punishment at all. A lot of times in order to get any action done at all you have to get a lot of people pissed off about it, and internet campaigns work very well for this. Triple Vacuum Seal
Who gives a sh*t. It's a dog. Humans get killed by paranoid rednecks for trespassing too. Why waist resources destroying someones life when they are likely going to do it themselves anyway? Just stay away from the inbreds and you'll be fine. It's funny you made this topic though because a friend and I almost got attacked yesterday by a pitbull. Lucky for us, it was the all bark and no bite kind of pit that runs up to you in a growling rage and stops a few feet away. Other than that, I like pitbulls too. Typhus
I wonder how long it took for the dog to die. That arrow doesn't look sufficient to have killed the Pitbull instantly. The real crime is the stupidity of ADMITTING to this. Animals die all the time, the hows and whys are irrelevant, but to actually post photographic evidence of it and gloat about what a big, brave man you are? Well, I'm sorry, but that's a very foolish thing to do. Kill as many dogs as you like, just don't expect a parade if you go around bragging about it. Chunkyman
I see nothing wrong with killing stray (big) dogs. You do understand that they are incredibly dangerous to people, especially children? The guy was being an idiot for his little Facebook comment, but fundamentally there's nothing especially bad about what he did. What is rather bad is the people saying he should be forcibly detained in a little cage for the next decade and/or be tortured.

Animal cruelty carries huge punishments where I live, and they are totally followed through and processed. I thought that was a pretty universal thing. And to all the people who say 'it is just a dog, humans get killed everyday blah blah blah'. Don't forget that people who commit manslaughter face harsher punishments than someone who is charge with animal cruelty. NCONiall
As scrawny as he looks I can see why he did it. The dog probably would've picked him up and ran off to the hills. I'm more annoyed at the fact that he posted a picture of the dog; I mean for all to see, including pit bull lovers. He's just attention seeking and it's working. The dog is dead and that's that, I don't think an internet campaign is going to bring the dog back or bring the fella to justice which would probably be a slap on the wrist anyway. lil weasel
My Dog Was Killed By A Law Enforcement Officer. Can I Recover Damages For My Dog Being Killed?By: LawInfo It depends. Any person, including law enforcement officers, can kill a dog that they witness pursuing or attacking any other domestic animal, livestock or human being, and that person shall not be liable to the owner of the animal for that killing. It is, however, illegal for any person, other than a law enforcement officer, to kill a dog which has a license that is valid in the current year, unless the dog is attacking another animal or person. If you believe that your dog has been unjustifiably killed by a law enforcement officer or any other person, you can bring a lawsuit to recover damages for the loss of your dog Can I Be Liable For Damages In A Trespass Action If My Dog Enters My Neighbor's Property?By: LawInfo It depends. If you live in a city and your dog simply enters your neighbor's land while running free you will most likely not be open to a lawsuit for trespass. However, if you live outside of a city and your dog is running loose and enters any land that is leased or owned and used for the purpose of containing livestock you, as the dog's owner, can be liable for any damages that occur. Additionally, if your dog, which is over 6 months old, is running at large and unaccompanied by you trespasses onto land where livestock is located it can be detained and you will need to show cause to a court for why the dog should not be killed. This rule also includes hunting dogs that are running at large, unaccompanied by their owners. All goes to show what can happen when we don't have Bow & Arrow registration and required back ground checks for users. .

El Dildo
Who gives a sh*t. It's a dog. to be fair, I give a sh*t. but also, you're right. it's a dog. until the world has no more human beings left starving and suffering, I can't really devote too much energy to animal cruelty. I sympathize and all, but human beings are slightly more important. I have no problem with people that are super concerned about animals, but their priorities are a little out of order.
