Pyrrhic
Are there any artists or songs out there that you find particularly memorable from a good time in your life? There are many songs from my childhood in which I hold very close to my heart. If there are post them here. I'm curious and eager to see what artists or genres certain people deem to be nostalgic or whatnot. As for me? I have a few up my sleeve: 3 Doors Down - Kryptonite Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 The Offspring - Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) The Living End - All Torn Down Remember to post the name of the song so it's easier for others. Vega LVI
First off, this is a great idea for a Music Talk thread. Wish I would have thought of it. Secondly, I'm nostalgic for anything that wasn't necessarily the most popular (or isn't anymore) from the 1990s. Bands like early Green Day (pre-Dookie), The Black Crowes, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Tool and so on stand out, especially when I hear tracks I may not have heard in many years. Pyrrhic
Yes! Tool is nostalgic for me as well because my mum used to listen to them a lot when I was little. Undertow and Ænima are two of my favourite albums now! Actually a lot if music my mum listened to when I was little are nostalgic for me. King Kapone
Anything from Now That's What I Call Music Vol. #, mid-90s through early 2000s. Good indication of what was on the radio at the time, so always brings out a memory or two.

GreatGig
Barber's Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix) - William Orbit Oh, wow! I had completely forgotten about that remix. I was a huge fan of Tiesto's version but got sick of it. When the Corsten one came along in was like a huge breath of fresh air. Excellent music. One album that really holds a lot of nostalgia for me is Red Hot Chili's "By The Way". In 2002 I went on a trip to Spain with school. I don't know why exactly, it was a poor decision. I was hated by pretty much everyone and none of my friends were going. Nevertheless, the day we arrived we went into this shopping centre and I instantly bought a portable CD player, a f*ckload of batteries, and the aforementioned album. For the rest of the week I was there all I did was listen to it constantly, from dusk till dawn. In fact, people in the camp had noticed this and gave me my first, long-lasting nickname of Chilli. I got so f*cking addicted it became instinctive and habitual to just put the album on and listen to it relentlessly. Even now when I listen to it I can still enjoy it and the memories associated are crystal clear. My favourite memory has to be when I was sat on some rocks way above the beach, watching and mentally burning the people I hated. Our chemistry teacher, a gorgeous young blonde by the name of Miss Cook, came out from the car in nothing but a blue bikini. My jaw slammed the floor with the force of 20 atom bombs. All the while, "Tear" serenaded this scene and eventually became the soundtrack to the porn film that played in my head of me and Miss Cook going at it in her car. I tell you, there's no happiness like that to be found anywhere else. So here it is, "Tear" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

King Kapone
I think the point of the topic is for music that reminds you of a good time in your life, not of enjoyable GTA play experiences. But it's up to interpretation, I suppose. This song brings me back. Not in an unbelievably good way but it was an extremely popular song in its time. On the radio three times an hour each day, at least.
Fireman
This song brings me back. Not in an unbelievably good way but it was an extremely popular song in its time. On the radio three times an hour each day, at least Why Survivor? For me Say My Name was much more popular (and better). They were so good back then and Beyonce was still hot. King Kapone
Needless to say, I think we can agree that Destiny's Child was on top of the music world back then. Lots of hits - just for me, Survivor stands out as being pretty popular. According to Wikipedia, Destiny's Child had four #1 hits between 1999 and 2001. Bills, Bills, Bills Say My Name Independent Women Part I Bootylicious Survivor was actually only a #2 hit in the US.
Pyrrhic
I think music from video game experiences is definitely acceptable. I myself have a few songs from games that bring back the good times. This isn't one. Sublime - What I Got
trip
Very long story short: In 1987 I got pulled over on I95 in Maryland doing over 100MPH in my Honda Civic 1500dx. Naturally the cop hated me. He was a big ass black dude with a big ass hat and he reeked of bad cologne as he leaned his big ass head into my car bitching at me. I took it to court. During court this song was stuck in my head. *not sure if staying in boundaries of the topic.
