The Pizza Delivery Guy Posted February 13, 2013 Share Posted February 13, 2013 I was just having an overall rough day. It took a little extra time to get to the person's home I was delivering to. I live in a town surrounded by farms, and the one I was delivering was quite a ways out. I was about 15 minutes off the estimated delivery time. When I got to the house 3 huge friggin dogs just gave immediate chase to me. I mean it those things were massive. They circled me all the way to the door, when this older man answers and tells me: "You're late." I gave the guy the pizza and asked for the pay, but he refused and slammed the door in my face. I wasn't going to stand lightly to this. I nearly beat the door down to get him back in front of me. I told him I wouldn't leave until he paid, but once again slammed the door in my face. The entire time this has been going on those huge dogs are right next to me, damn near ready to rip my head off. Out of desperation I opened the door myself and demanded the payment, but the old guy gets right in my face and tells me to get the hell off of his property, snaps his thumb, and one of the dogs bit me on the leg. My anger took over and I leveled the old guy and told him to keep the damn pizza then. Once I made it back to the joint the boss told me that the old man had called him up and told him what happened. I was fired on the spot. i know this is pretty much my fault losing the job, and I admit I suck at controlling my temper. So that's about it. I, The Pizza Delivery Guy, am no longer delivering. First off, forget that hick who didn't pay for the pizza because you were 'late'. What did he expect? He is in the country, dumb backwards ass. You should try to reason with your boss. I would have said the guy was threatening you or the dogs were biting you or something which led to do what you did. Sometimes it's necessary to lie. This old man needs to learn some manners. If it truly got to him that much that you were 15 mins late, he should have shaved a little bit off your tip or just not tipped you. I guess now that my ass is out he can hire someone else for less pay. I was the third highest earner there behind two cooks. That means he can start shoveling less out to a younger foolish kid. Damn this nation. This just seems so wrong. Yeah you should have kept cool, but that was messed up. I remember back in December Kohl's fired my sister because she made a mistake yet they did I poor job training her. What they trained her for not even two days. From what I can assume, the guy sent one of his dogs after me. I had to get a rabies check and it ruined a perfectly good pair of jeans. Sure I have self control issues, but most guys I know might have done the same in that situation, Although none of them have ever experienced the stress and toil of a pizza delivery guy. @Adriaan's video: That guy was desperate for the highlight reel. You should have simply taken the pizza, did an about face and got out of dodge and just told your boss the customer was being rude and inappropriate. Dogs are a factor to reign in but for a dog to bite you.. I don't see why you didn't call the autorities right away? Possible lawsuit right there. Pet owners just can't send animals to attack for any reason unless you were to barge in his home. But a pizza delivery guy, that's highly unlikely. As Adriaan said, bad theatre man.
