Beliy360
Yoga, repossessing cars, robbing banks, watching TV (with some new shows), triathlons, jet skiing, base-jumping, tennis and golf are some of the possible mini-games that may be included judging by what’s in the trailers. I personally hope the drink-driving mini-game returns – a lot of fun trying to stay in a straight line only to plough head on into the old bill (and I’m sure the Daily Mail would agree with me). With all these to enjoy, there’s even more to get out of GTA V, and in a way you get more than one game to play on one disc – you could be robbing banks one minute then wind down with some yoga the next: what other game will allow you to do all that? Agrees that GTA V will be a fight of the year? Please tell us in the comments below. link Edited February 12, 2013 by Beliy360

BlackNoise
It will be awhile before they get any real competition. Game development will need to become easier and cheaper. R* just doesn't give a f*ck, which is why their name is perfect. They act like rock stars. They don't mind making us wait 5 years in between GTA games. They're one of the few developers who care more about their games than anything else. Some care more about fans, or money, or a combination, but R* only cares about making the game they want to make. And no, I'm not saying longer development = better game, but better games usually take longer to develop.
jamieleng
Rockstar needs competition, why everyone fails so much in open world? It's stupid I would love a developer to give R* a run for their money in the open world sandbox genre. Competition is a healthy thing but seriously, what developer/publisher is going to do that? Valve & Naughty Dog are the only ones who would stand a chance imo.

If it's just the fact that all that cool sh*t ended up becoming a basic shootout, the developers said there are many ways you could've completed that mission. They just chose to do it that way. The Gardener
The way I see it there only two good free-roaming games. Grand Theft Auto and The Elder Scrolls. And they can never compete with each other, they're completely different. There no other game I can say I have over 2000 hours played, the only game is GTA IV. JeezoFreak
If Volition would stop making sh*tty Saints Row games and made a good open world sequel to Red Faction Guerrilla that would be awesome. The destruction based multiplayer modes in that game were pretty great, and almost every single building in that game was destructible. Really a very underrated game. Lil ski
Rockstar needs competition, why everyone fails so much in open world? It's stupid Well Far Cry 3 was f*ckin awesome as sh*t! Best game of 2012. And the elder scrolls series are highly acclaimed also ( even though I don't really get into those games.) do see, not every open worlder is sh*t. Actually the only modern games they created yet are Uncharted 1-3, and they are great games, but they are not open world, so I don't see any reason for people to say that. You could say the same about Valve too. Just because they've never made an open world game before doesn't mean they couldn't. Anyway, I'm talking more about the attention to detail, technical prowess & great characters when I compare ND or Valve to R*. Not how many open world games each developer has created. I'm pretty sure R* confirmed that "friends" arent returning, and you won't be able to go on activities with them. Oh really, so who exactly are you going to play Tennis or Golf with? Miss Darko
I believe even in the GI article they mentioned being able to call up the other protagonists for a game of Tennis if you so chose. I just think they're approaching it differently, where characters won't call you but rather you just call them. R* also mentioned taking some of the features of the phone that were in IV and instead putting them in the game world itself. I assume this means that, for instance, instead of friends calling you for a "date" to a bar or something, there's just some optional mini-missions you can engage in with some of the supporting characters that serve the similar purpose of fleshing the characters out and showing them in an element where they're not having to kill people, but having them be one-shot rather than having to do them over and over again and being interrupted by their prompts. (Having Trevor hang out with his friend Ron as their relationship is described in the GI article sounds just plain hilarious, so I hope that this is the case). Mokrie Dela
Watch Dogs is made by Ubisoft, so it's going to be boring, with more DLC than pixels, and tedious sh*t, clunky controls and prone to screen tearing. There are very few devs that can compete with R*, and tbh it's only a matter of time before R* fall as well. - the season pass or whatever R* call it is an example of that. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Click here to view my Poetry

Although I can't imagine Trevor having any true friends. I imagine the constant requests to 'go bowling' will be dropped & you'll have to initiate these activities instead. I mean, that was the only annoying thing about friends in IV.
