RomanBOY123
Hello everyone! I want to buy a laptop. I have $1400 in my budget. I have a few variations: 1) MSI GX60. - AMD A10 4600m - pretty weak but - Radeon HD7970 - really powerful 2) MSI GE70 - Intel Core I7 3630QM - not bad - Nvidia GF GTX660m - weaker than HD7970. Mid-end. 3) MSI GT60 - Intel Core I5 3210M (only 2 cores) - hmm... - Nvidia GF GTX670M - seems to be powerful What is the best one? On what settings I'll be able to play and how much FPS will I get? Extronic
RomanBOY123 The last option is the most expensive, yet the most unfavourable. It turns out that the dual-core will most probably be a bottleneck up there. I have i5-2410m which is essentially the same processor, only of sandy bridge generation, and it gets in trouble while playing IV. Speaking of MSI GX60 and MSI GE70, they are basically equal, but in a different way. GE70 would be the best pick if youre gonna play vanilla IV as its truly a processor dependent game. On another hand, GX60 fits better in case of applying various graphic enhancements, like driver forced AntiAliasing (GTA IV doesnt have native AA and looks a bit ugly becuz of that) or mods like icenhancer by ice LAG lace as it has significantly faster GPU. Keep in mind that youll be receiving less fps in this case, comparing to GE70.
Prometheus
I'd say the the second. It's the best balance of CPU and GPU power - and since IV is a CPU-dependent game, you wouldn't want to run it a dual core nor FX-series CPU, as they aren't really that powerful. EvilDog77
The second one will piss all over it. My lappy's running an i7 3612QM and a GTX 650m and EfLC runs perfectly well on high settings at 1080p.
