ItsOnlyAce
STD's. I think the first thought a person gets when they hear that someone has an STD is that they are either irresponsible or just they sleep around.
Creed Bratton
STD. Why do people think that being a virgin is embarrassing? It's not a condition. If girls don't care about your virginity neither should you. And they usually don't unless you're really old. Then they start asking questions. Dale Nixon
Virgin, I'd say. I've never had an STD before, but sh*t, how many times I've panicked.

blitz
What's the f*cking deal with guys having to lose their virginity? Seriously, it's not a big deal and no one should really care if you've lost it or not. That's personal.

Chunkyman
Which is more embarrassing? Depends on your age. Being a virgin at 30+ would likely make conversations about sex awkward.
Pyrrhic
Neither I find embarrassing, however and STD is obviously more life-effecting. virginity can be changed, and more often than not an STD can't. To be honest I don't think it's even comparable.
El Dildo
being a virgin is more embarrassing than having an STD, imo. but it also depends on the STD because I mean, we're all gonna' die of something, someday. but to die a virgin is just sad. Sneakerhead.
Being a virgin with an STD would suck the most. Wait, you can get a STD without having sex? I think having a STD would be worse than being a virgin. (Unless someone is 30+ then it could be a problem, but if you are happy being a virgin, so be it, I see nothing wrong with that.) ccrogers15
Virgin. Why? Because with an STD, at least you ARE having sex unlike many others. So if your friends ask why you are itching there like crazy you can say you caught an STD. They will be impressed that your not a virgin, but be in lol that you managed to catch it. But personally, being a virgin is much more embarrassing. Ever see a movie called the 40 year old virgin...? Dont wanna be that dude. Wait, you can get a STD without having sex? Yes, you can get STD`s through Blow Jobs: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/resources/factsheets/oralsex.htm
ryuclan
I would MUCH, MUCH, MUCH rather tell someone I am a virgin than to tell them I have an STD. You can lose your virginity. Most STD's are lifetime mistakes. When you are still a virgin and you tell women that, some of them make it their prerogative to be your first. They want to be that special woman you remember forever. I would say that zero women will WANT to have sex with you after you tell them you have syphilis. Jake
If it was anything but Gonorrhea, it would certainly be a bad situation more than embarrasing. Gono is embarrasing but cureable in a week or so. Being a virgin isn't much of a big deal. Some people want to wait it out, or simply never get a chance at it. If you get past 30 and you're still a virgin though, I would be a bit confused and concerned about your social experiences. Unless you're an Asexual, I guess. orbitalraindrops
I suppose if I was a 20+ virgin thatd be embarrasing but if I had an STD that would be beyond embarassing. Fortunately the girls I've slept with aren't STD ridden which I suppose is the only redeemable quality they had going about them.
Algonquin Assassin
I didn't lose my virginity until I was 24. I never felt embarrassed. I just had a thicker skin to wait until I was ready instead of crumbling to peer pressure. As for an STD? No I don't think so.
Mr. Reaper.
Not even on the same scale. I've had STD's nothing permanent, but it's a lot of pain. Many contracted because I haven't always been so level headed. For which is more embarrassing? An STD, if you really must compare the two.
Saggy
I really can't see how being a virgin would be more embarrassing. "Haha, you've never had sex." vs "Haha, you had sex and now you're life is permanently altered and you'll never have sex without it being an issue again" Can't see how this is really even a competition. It's surprising how acceptable having an STD has become though... Not that I'm saying it shouldn't be or anything. I was watching a Doug Stanhope standup and he was talking about having herpes and said... "Yeah, so what I have herpes... That just means I'm actually living my life." Which is an interesting concept because... You know on the one hand I guess it kind of makes sense, he's got an STD because he lives life to its fullest and all that. On the other hand, I can't think of a lot of things that a person does to catch an STD that they could do without catching an STD if they were a little bit more discerning. He doesn't have herpes because he's "actually living his life", he has herpes because somewhere in the back of his head when reviewing the consequences for whatever specific action led to that he thought "Nah it's worth it." Or more likely got it from some bitch that was cheating on him... QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration! Mr Rabbit
the very fact that this is even a question being asked without the aid of copious amounts of alcohol, drugs or blows to the head shows that society has failed, but this I knew for a few years now, this is jsut further evidence to society's decline you can't compare the 2. An STD is beyond 'embarrassing, by which I mean the 'embarrassment' of having one should not even be an issue as you have more pressing issues if you have an STD. yes most of them are treatable but that is not really the point. Hell it is not really embarrassing, the only sense of embarrassment you should feel is the fact you were careless, and we all make mistakes. However saying that you would not exactly belt it out from the rooftops if you had an STD, unless you know you were f*cking mental, more so than me. Being a virgin is also nothing to be ashamed of, unless you are like 30, and even then that depends on the person. Some people prefer to wait for the 'right person' rather than just have casual sex with almost everyone they have any attraction towards. The fact that being a virgin in your late teens or in your 20's is deemed as 'embarrassing' by some means society has failed, it has degraded into a shallow, hollow shell that only cares about superficial crap, not to say sex is superficial as it is an important part of the circle of life, keeps the human species going and what-not, well in some cases. But when in your life you first have sex does not really matter, like the age you have your first alcoholic beverage, it does not matter.

There are probably girls/guys out there that think Syphilis is something good and healthy. I wish I could say you were wrong lol. I was talking to my fiancée about high school and whatnot and she said she had absolutely no sexual education classes at her school. They pretty much told them "Sex is bad m'kay. Wait till you're married." I, on the other hand, had a class in elementary, middle and high school. I went to inner city, predominately minority schools and her not so much so. The opportunity that they missed in teaching children about STD's, unprotected sex, and being responsible is immense. I can't believe schools still try to teach abstinence. But when in your life you first have sex does not really matter, like the age you have your first alcoholic beverage, it does not matter. Well, I think that there's been a weird shift in the way we treat the whole "virgin" issue in society. It seems like now there's more pressures for girls to lose it than for them to keep it, and for guys it seems like it's always been kind of a "popularity contest" type of thing. It's just been going to extreme levels I think, where it's being focused on way too much as like the whole meaning of one's teen life is to lose their virginity or something. It's to the point now where if you haven't lost your virginity by the time you're in your late teens, you're "weird" to a lot of people. Seems like you know, what was once, "Ahh, you're a virgin, haha... You'll get some one day," has turned into some kind of weird conformity ritual where people are ostracized or praised based upon whether they've had sex. I mean, how can you not expect kids to not have sex normally, but then make a popularity contest out of it too? There's just a huge message these days that seems to say "sex at a young age is okay and totally normal" but on the other end of that so many people don't actually have sex at a young age ( normal ) and so are basically getting the message that they are somehow the weird ones. That's how I see it any way... I mean I think there's level headed people that see this for what it is and realize that "Oh hey it doesn't really matter," but then there's others that read right into it and let it dictate how they will feel and their choices. I think that's a little unfortunate since it usually leads to people's "first times" not being too stellar, and often not something they're proud of and might be ashamed of. Or on the other hand they might not get any at all even though they would hit the first piece of tail that comes by, and so they wind up feeling undesirable and like a weirdo loser that will never get laid. But still.... I at least would be way more embarrassed to have an STD than to be a virgin. I mean, I guess maybe if you had one and were stuck with it you'd get use to it and be like "Well I am who I am" and everything, but I guess I'll put it this way... If you ever have to get an STD test, the whole "waiting" period and having to get a test itself is so much more embarrassing than being a virgin is. The whole time you'll be thinking "f*ck I wish I never had sex!" QUOTE (K^2) ...not only is it legal for you to go around with a concealed penis, it requires absolutely no registration!
