Beliy360 Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Take a look at the following video which explores some of the top current gen games that should get re-released on PS4 and Xbox 720 once the consoles are released. There’s reasoning behind this trail of thought because the differences between current gen versions and PC are quite huge in some cases. If next generation consoles launch within the next 12 months, then it makes sense to port over the superior PC versions of these games to the new consoles. This would bolster the initial line-up of games for next gen systems and also provide some big name releases at launch. Further more, it’s likely many gamers would love to sample games they are familiar with on new hardware especially if some extras were thrown in to sweeten the deal. What is perhaps wishful thinking is having a system where those who already purchased the game on PS3 and Xbox 360 would be offered a discount or even the upgraded game Free of charge. Microsoft completely cocked up the original release, what with pitting it against my GOTG (Red Dead Redemption) & spending a pittance on advertising. F*cking love that game. Consoles are terrible hardware wise. While i adore my Playstation 3, its still a pile of excrement compared to my computer. Anyways.. on topic. We all know Little Big Planet WILL be re released next gen with the same name. Just probably branded "A new game". Just like how little big planet PSP and PSvita both used the same name. Likely LBP1 will be re released on PS4, but with better graphics and more levels. Also im sure the HD Collections for sony franchises will be ported over, and its likely we will see more. The long overdue Crash Bandicoot revival also needs to take place. Id love spyro to come back, but while that god awful craplanders is still activisions cash cow, ive lost all hope with Spyro. So that reminds me... If the PS4 dont play PS1 games, i wont be buying it. Ive got 93 PS1 games and i want to have the convenience of being able to simply insert the disk and play. I dont want to hook up another damn console just to play a game. PS3 on launch had lots of awesome features that made it worth the money. But the updates and new console changes that removed features, like otherOS and PS2 support, made the console pretty lacky. Some people evidently want re releases and remakes. See the Resident Evil 2 remake petition for example. Almost 30000 signatures in only 5 months. Why current gen games? The only games that should be re-released should be games that can be considered ancient imo. Exactly. Like Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil Outbreak, 2 highly requested projects from Capcom. The RE2 remake petition has almost 30000 signatures, while the outbreak HD petition has almost 10000, and the outbreak has a very loyal fanbase on capcom unity and is currently the most viewed and most replied too topic on Capcom Unity. But i agree, remaking current gen games would not be worth the effort. How much "Better" graphics can you really get with them? Imagine if someone made a "Remake GTA IV petition" after PS4 comes out. Everyone would laugh and flame them. The best we can hope for with playing current games on next gen consoles, is that if Sony and MS dont support backwards compatibility, we can hope they will re release then on PSN/XBL for next gen consoles. We already know PS4 will be at least B/C with PS1/2 and 3 titles with digital releases. This is evident with sonys lies. They say PS3 slim CANT be emulated, but the PS2 classics on PSN are simple ISO`s of the games with an emulator attached. It was just a money grab gimmick is all. Sony lost money making PS3 B/C with PS2 software, but now are gaining it back with PS2 classics since they are cheap to do. Package with an emulator, and it can be software emulated. Personally i think sony should release a PS2 emulator for the PS3 over PSN and price it at around $50. That way, fans are happy, and sony gets money. This would i choose,too Also i would add Uncharted and Infamous games,Assassins Creed series(especially AC2), Mass Effect series(especially ME2),Deus Ex Human Revolution,Driver SF and Dishonored. Far Cry 3 is a great game and I would love to play it. But when I see how much better it is on PC it makes me think the console version is lacking and that i'm missing out on everything the game has to offer by not playing it on PC.
