RIKOSHAY
If they were both sitting in the airport runway, which would you guys choose to take first? Which do you think will be better? I would choose the Hydra purely because in SA it had the thruster lift which makes it so much easier to take off than it is to have a runway to gain speed. GTAfan786
For me it depends. If i wanted to roam the sky without trouble, i'd take the hydra, if i wanted a full on sky fight, then i would with no doubt take the fighter jet. I'll use shamal and other planes first for a bit though......

GTAfan786
There is a dodo in this game aswell, it's in the first trailer. I think that is the stunt plane, the cuban looks too heavy for it. But the cuban is a new plane, it's going to be exciting.

The Gardener
It depends on your playing style. I just hope they're not as useless as the anhilator. With the anhilator you're either useless or can kill everything with ease. I hope the planes and choppers have some sort of targeting system. RIKOSHAY
The Hydra is a figther jet. Refer to GTAV Vehicle Database for the difference between the two. Was there a dodo? I don't remember seeing it. Targeting systems would definitely be an improvement. I also hope the Buzzard can stand its own and not be pushed around by jets with ease. CrisFormageKIFFLOM
The Hydra is a figther jet. Refer to GTAV Vehicle Database for the difference between the two. It's still a fighter jet, e.g. a jet that is used for fighting.... Now, a bomber is different than a fighter jet, but the hydra falls under fighter jet specs!!! GTAfan786
But the Hydra is not built for fighting. Yes it has similar specs, but it can hover in which a fighter jet can't. There is going to be a hydra AND a jet based on the F16/F18-A.

Deffpony
The Hydra is a figther jet. This, but it really depends honestly. If the non hydra is faster I will probably grab that, because that would be the only benefit opposed to vertical take-off/insertion But the Hydra is not built for fighting. Yes it has similar specs, but it can hover in which a fighter jet can't. There is going to be a hydra AND a jet based on the F16/F18-A. The hydra is def built for fighting. Lets try and use some logic here. If it was nor made for aerial assaults what would its purpose be. Its too small for transport. The only 3 possible uses for the aircraft are, aerial assault such as dog fights and bombings, or reconosance Edited February 11, 2013 by deffpony

GTAfiveFAN
Just have an F-35, it has the best of both: speed and sleekness of a regular fighter jet with a VTOL!

Why would you want to avoid it? Gonna be one of the most fun parts of the game, along with bicycles and the sub.

GTAfan786
I dunno then. But fighter jets are definitely faster. Either way, i don't really care much, i just want to use them!

Amateur OT, any aircraft experts know the head to head capabilities of their real life counterparts? I.e speed, acceleration, maneuverability, weapon capability, gadgets, etc? The maximum speed a modern day fighter jet with good enough build can go maximum 1600-2000 mph. It depends though, whether you are at sea level or high in the sky where the temperature and pressure is really low.

RIKOSHAY
I do it so I can scroll through the pages of a thread and find where I posted and if anybody quoted/responded. Sorry if it annoys you but I don't really care, get used to it. Unfortunately, this thread has been taken over by children, lets get back on topic: which do you prefer, Hydra or F18 parody and why? No, i'm talking about the jet that is based on the F16/18-A alone. The hydra is much slower than that.
