mrcmaney
Hi guys, Please help, I have installed GTA IV on my system (Bought the game a bit late) and it installed fine, however, when I play, it lags, runs nicely for 5 seconds then freezes for 1 second. <---- Does this over and over! I have the following system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Intel i5 3570 3.40GHz Z77 Chipset 8GB RAM Sapphire Radeon HD7750 GDDR5 1GB Graphics Card 1TB Hard drive (Loads of free space) It is very annoying, and every now and then it crashes with a "GTA IV FATAL ERROR" Message. I run F1 2012 on this same system and it runs perfectly, on ultra high settings, and its minimum requirements are more than GTA IV's recommended requirements. Is it possible that Windows 7 is the problem? Any suggestions on how to fix this problem will be appreciated! Thanks, Chris
jpm1
your system is enough to run smoothly on meduim-high and probably in high or very-high too . deactivate auto save option , and capture recording . try to lower shadows quality and traffic density . don't play windowed . and are you running mods ? luceberg
Is the game patched to 1.0.7.0? Is Windows Live updated? What resolution are you playing at and what settings?
unc13bud
runs nicely for 5 seconds then freezes for 1 second. rollback to video drivers of the CD that came with the card. i think it is video card/driver compatibility issue
Red Hat
It is very annoying, and every now and then it crashes with a "GTA IV FATAL ERROR" Message. Try to update the game to Latest Patch #7 to fix the Fatal Error problem.

radioman
Is this the Retail(DVD) version OR a Downloaded version? If Downloaded, from where? If Retail, from which store or store's website did you obtain it from? If Retail, Is this the Original DVD being used OR a No-DVD crack OR a Copy of the disc being used? Any mods or trainers installed?-If so, un-install the game, delete ALL left over files and re-install... Any Daemon tools or the like installed on PC?-These can cause problems with games... Since you have Windows 7, DO you have the latest SP for it, which is SP1? Please answer ALL the above questions so we can better help you..
