    • Yes, that would be great. It's something different and could be cool.

I'd love something like this OP, and i think you're spot on.

I've always wanted a game where I don't get my hand held throughout the entire thing teling me exactly where to go and what to do. Just give me the overall objective and let me have at it in my own way.. If people are too stupid to figure it out they can always read a guide or something.

Older games used to do things like this, but now they just want you to watch a movie, pressing the odd button along the way to make you feel like you accomplished something.. It doesn't work though, it just disconnects you from the whole experience.

I'd love to have a few subtle cues and then work out my own avenues of investigation.. I'd love if the heist preparation missions were like this, casing the place and figuring out of my own accord what i will need to do. but i know they won't be they will be simplified follow the marker and watch corresponding cut scene missions.

Such a shame.

Yeah, I understand that games are becoming more cinematic and Hollywood action movieish, but I don't see how letting us be independent will ruin that. I mean take this proposed kidnapping for example, we'll find the character our own way and once we do a shootout will ensue and then Rockstar can go all Hollywood on our asses.

There needs to be more of a sense of accomplishment, I want to be able to think, "Hey, that was pretty smart of me, I came up with that idea and it worked."

You don't get that with constant "drive here," "fly there" instructions.

I agree with you in principle.. But the thing is, they don't want people giving up on the game, and never seeing all the work they put in to the big stylised set piece sequences. A lot of people when they can't figure something out, will just blame the game being too hard and go and play something else.

Not only will they do that, but they will go and tell their friends GTAV totally sucked and was really boring.. You should go and buy Modern Warfare 9 instead because there was this really awesome bit where you had to put a charge on a door and do an awesome slow motion breach sequence (Seriously FPS games, that's getting old)

Word of mouth sells units. It's peer pressure.. If all your school buddies are playing modern warfare and Battlefield 3, then you don't want to be the OMG LOOSER FAG who is playing Arma or something..

More hand holding leads to more positive reviews and less tears and therefore the game will be way cooler by association.

Don't get me wrong, GTA is already super cool with all the kiddies and could definitely get away with doing something like this.. But i doubt they will. They never have in any of the previous games

I just want more stealth missions

Stealth missions would be nice. They had some stealth missions in gta san andreas, but I hope they would improve it much more. But I just want some more variations of missions. Gta IV had a too small variety of missions, it was only missions like, go there, shoot some guys, go back or just kill "these" guys, that's one of the reasons that IV is not my favorite.

I just want more stealth missions

This is exactly what I don't want. I mean I want stealth mechanics, but I don't want enemy AI to act one way in some missions and another way in others.

I just wish AI could simply have line of sight. Everything else should be up to the player IMO.

Yes i read that one before and it gives me hope too. However i've heard this rhetoric too many times from too many developers to truly expect the kind of dynamism i would truly like to see.

I am expecting it to be the usual, do you choose to do this mission with a rocket launcher or do you use a silenced pistol.

Or do you go in to coloured marker A which is at the front gates, or do you go to coloured marker B which is the back door.

While i do appreciate that kind of freedom too, it's not the kind of dynamic freedom i would hope for.

I hope i'm wrong, and that Rockstar have something truly special in this regard, but i won't hold my breath.

I would like to sneak on to the enemies and break their necks like in Uncharted 2 and 3 and almost skip a shootout. But I would like to hide from the cops when I'm wanted.
