Then the shark picture came and I was superhyped, and now I'm not hyped at all. But Rockstar won't lose my business. Even if they delay the game until 2018 I will still buy it. It feels almost like a completely different game now compared to the dream game we were hyping ourselves up for last November. Now it just feels a bit like... Meh... It's just another GTA... I can wait. It's a bit like when a magician reveals his secrets. It's still kinda cool... but not as mysterious anymore. I have *a few* other things going on in my life other than GTAV, as I am sure 99.9% of the people on this forum do. But that does not invalidate my right to be pissed off at the way Rockstar marketing has screwed us over in the past 15 months. Not so much the delay as the 2012 Campaign of Silence. They have jerked around our feelings of brand loyalty, of respect for the artists, designers and hardworking craftspeople who make games like GTA and RDR. I will be when we're close to release, but for now I don't really care. Guys, as much fun as it is to be excited for a game some forum users level of interest in this game is unhealthy. I'm sorry but if the delay has ruined the whole summer season for you take a break seriously. Just because people are complaining about the delay, it don't mean that the only thing in their lives is GTA. It is genuine reason to feel disappointed about. Imagine you were so excited for something like meeting a super hot chick after a long time getting to know her the next day and then she tells you she has to cancel the date, go abroad for 6 months and then meet you when she gets back. How disappointed will you be? A lot. Yeah it's a different situation as this is a game, but the principle remains the same - you were hugely looking forward to something and you were majorly disappointed when you did not get it or see it. That's how people felt so, respect that. This is a GTA forum if you did not know. I don't see anybody on here saying they wanna kill themselves, blow up buildings or launch a revolution because of the GTA V delay, so just relax man. Good point. But complaining about it isn't going to make the game come out earlier. We just need to deal with it and move on. The time for complaining about this should have been over a week ago. They also delayed shootmania to improve it, but you can actually play beta now. And they ask community what it wants and doesnt want. If only R* could be like nadeo... You're all going to be hyped again. Let's talk about hype refreshment. When GTAV Trailer #1 came almost out out of the blue, it was an earth-shaking event, and the forum exploded. The Trailer #1 analysis thread has 509 pages and the hype went on for months, until Rockstar's devastating and awkward silence, and months of MP3 spam, wore us down. A year later, after we were all fatigued, jaded, burned out and buttf*cked by Rockstar marketing, the Trailer #2 analysis thread only managed to reach 92 pages, and the hype died down in about a month, even with a collection of great screenshots. Now here we are in an info desert again, no idea what to expect or when to expect it, and honestly, how high can our hype go the third time around, when they finally deign to give us some more table scraps? Will we get fooled again? In retrospect, it was the long development time that undercut the hype train, because they couldn't expect to keep us at fever pitch for 2 solid years, but Rockstar's idea of marketing by not marketing has permanently traumatized the collective soul of the fanbase. They could have doled out a regular release of screens or cars or tidbits of interesting info over 2012 to keep the hype alive and healthy, but they didn't. Like I said before, it's GTA forum, and many people will talk and complain about this, simply because the GTA V delay is the biggest and most hotly-debated subject regarding GTA right now. There was a crazy amount of hype surrounding the release of GTA IV, I will never forget how big that was. The same was happening here, except Rockstar kinda killed it for now.
