BullworthAcademy
A rumor posted on VideoGamer.com indicates that we may be seeing the next entry in the primary Killzone series very soon. “Killzone 4 will release later this year on Sony’s next-generation PlayStation,” according to the site’s source, later noting that the same source’s “comments suggest that Killzone 4 could be a launch window title for the unannounced hardware, which is rumored to go on sale by the end of 2013.” Guerrilla Games, the Sony-owned Dutch studio behind the Killzone franchise, hasn't released a new game in two years, and has openly admitted that it has multiple projects in development, including more Killzone and a brand-new IP. Zancudo
Perhaps it's going to be shown on February 20th? I hope they'll implement an optional third-person perspective camera. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to make an additional perspective, and it could surely put a gain to the sales.
LewisMiller
I hope this is true, I loved Killzone, Killzone2 and Killzone3.
Secura
This definitely sounds like part of the Orbis (yes I'm calling it the Orbis because until the PlayStation 4's announced that's exactly what its name is) release line up. I'm wondering if Sony are going to go with the Move route again with this series as I'll be entirely honest here, Killzone 3 was just simply better with Move. It felt more fluid and engaging then any other FPS on the system, I'm unsure what this is due to but my guess is the fact that it felt like I was playing with a mouse rather then a controller giving me greater accuracy and control over the situations I was in. I'm also bouncing around a thought in my head, that thought's whether or not they should continue the Killzone series in the first place. Don't get me wrong the Killzone games are great for their time but they seem to have this issue with either being really forgetful or/and becoming outdated very, very quickly. That's not to say that the Killzone series doesn't have an interesting narrative, far from it, the Killzone universe is one of the most interesting in gaming today, what's off about the game series is its insistence on throwing away everything it's got going for it. The thing that Killzone 3 had going for it were its environments, I remember that in one particular mission a few of the Helghast soldiers could be killed by the environment, you could in theory use the gameworld to your advantage and it's a pity this feature wasn't given more attention. I can only hope that whatever they're going to do with Killzone 4 they do it well and don't leave great gameplay features behind for more grayish boring shooting action. lloydo
Good news, although i've yet to complete K3. I hope the Helgast are somehow harder to kill, you seem to mow them down too easily.

iNero
Someone should change the title to the actual name. Btw.: as it looks im going for the PS4. But Killzone only runs 30FPS. So my question is: Is it possible that they will change it to 60FPS as they made the game with early dev kits without 8GB GDDR5? and would these graphics with only 30 FPS already be the max? i mean i would be worried if the Hardware isnt powerful enough to run this game on 60FPS. would be very poor. eerik
I guess it would be possible to bump the FPS to 60 but I doubt it's going to happen. Here's an official in-depth post mortem for the PS Meeting demo. It used 3GB of RAM for GPU and 1.5GB for CPU, plus 128MB shared between the two. eerik
We don't know how much RAM will be reserved for the PS4 OS. If it's 1GB then there was about 1.5GB of unused RAM for that demo.

I would say the OS was already used. at least a similar one as this did run on a dev kit Edit: sry got you wrong. so is 1.5 much?

Killzone like Halo arw focussed on story. I only played KZ1 cause I have no PS3 and the story and the flair and vibe in the game was awesome. If the game isnt worth it because of the gameplay, it surely is worth a purchase for the graphics alone. I usually prefer 60 fps over eyecandy but with these visuals and in game models, Im glad they did the trade off.
Durden
I was seriously considering diving into the Killzone series with Shadowfall, but ever since its been revealed to run at 30fps, I just can't find any desire for the game. I've played killzone 3, and I know that the KZ series is notorious for their clunky movements & input lag. This really throws me off the purchase. I think the better tradeoff would have been 60fps w/ lesser visuals. Oh well, hopefully my friend gets this game so I can file share it for free. Better have a locked and rock solid 30 FPS framerate with such great visuals than a framerate which dips from up and down. If they manage to make the controlls responsive and fluid, I dont see a problem for the 30 FPS being bad in this game. I mean the character graphics are on par with C3 if not better. Killzone: http://abload.de/img/4uwsab.jpg Crysis 3 http://i1.minus.com/ibbt5oUZ8sUaGc.png and yes those are in-game:
Durden
I just remembered that all PS4 games will have some type of demo that you can play instantly. This changes things... If the demo feels fluid, I will purchase KZ:SF. And yes, I was blown away from the graphics at the February PS4 reveal - they even rival BF4. iNero
to proof that those models are legit: KZ has 40k Polygon per Character 40k tris 6 x 2k texture maps all together from the Killzone Shadow Fall tech PDF provided by the devs after Reveal in Feb. Crysis 3 as comparison: "only" 15k polygons ~15k tris2k texture for faces 2k textures for body optional 1k texture for details (psycho) http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread....t=117484&page=3 thats just to proof that. also from that Tech PDF: so we can expect alot better in the future
