luceberg
There is a fair amount of information, or at least rumours, on the next gen consoles. It seems they will have 8 core cpu's, running at 1.6Ghz. Since GTA IV runs best on a fast quad core,( using 3 cores max), and GTA V will possibly be the same, how could it possibly run on such slow cpu's, even if the IPC is better? To my mind, and I don't pretend to know, the game would need to be coded differently from the very start, with the threads spead over 8 cores instead of 3. Or am I missing something?.. your opinions, please? Sorry folks, I meant to put this topic in the Tech & PC Chat section, but posted it here by mistake. friendly luggage
When it comes to performance of a processor (both CPU and GPU) it's not just about speed and cores. CPU architecture plays a major role and software needs to be coded properly to utilise all the power that can be given.
Finn 7 five 11
Everything you hear at this point are rumours, the 1.6ghz is most likely a load of bullsh*t.
