I'm guessing that means any characters that got a lot of screen time in IV (Brucie, Jacob, Gay Tony etc). Had a pivotal but silent introduction in IV & would love to know how he went from a pocket full of diamonds at the end of EFLC, to slumming it in L.S. five years later.
