El Dildo
they found a body inside the cabin after the flames settled down. ID tests pending, it looks like Dorner according to police on the scene. so it appears to be over. he was likely wounded in the shootout and managed to set fire to the building with his dying breath. good riddance. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/live-video/
Adler
They also heard a single gunshot within the cabin so he may have offed himself to avoid a worse death. Kind of a shame as I wonder if the LAPD will actually get any reform. If what Dorner stated in his manifesto was true and no action is taken to correct the past, his death and killings were for nothing.

SRB
I hate to be that guy, but didn't they say there were tire tracks hour before hand leaving the cabin? And also wouldn't this be a good ploy to make it look like he died so they'd stop searching? Or even the police are saying this so they won't be so embarrassed after this. Ah, now I'll await being called a conspiracy theorist and nutjob for thinking something other than what the news said. Oh well. Not that I support the guy for killing cops, but just for the fact that he managed to avoid all those different government agencies for that long was a very interesting story to follow. DarrinPA
It's a shame they didn't bring him in alive. I bet the last thing the LAPD wanted was a trial. As for him being responsible for the fire, they claimed the same thing for years after the Waco seige, only to find out that the authorities had started the fire. El Dildo
as of right now, police have walked their original statements back. the body that is still inside the building has not been identified officially. the last official announcement is that the cabin area is still too hot to search. they still don't know if Dorner is alive, dead, or even in the cabin. law enforcement assumes that he is (inside and dead) because they feel like they had established a good perimeter around the outside of the cabin. it was supposed to be surrounded by heavily armed authorities who believe they would have encountered Dorner if he tried to escape, not to mention all the helicopters and dogs. so if Dorner actually made it out, he did an outstanding job of eluding the men who were supposed to be watching all the exits. but right now they're still waiting to formally enter the cabin and establish whose body is inside. Dingdongs
Good post diablo... that about sums it up. Looks like my prediction was right as to how they played it... just hoping that the body is his and not a hostage he left there while he took off. Saggy
Read on another forum that there was radio chatter going on during the time of incident with officers discussing the "burn plan". I wonder if the fire was really set by him or not... Kind of reminds me of the Waco thing. AceRay
I bet a million dollars that its Dorner's body inside, there's absolutely no way he could have escaped unless I'm living in a Hollywood action film or something. I don't buy it for a minute that he's alive.
Acehilm
What a painful death. I was hoping this mentally ill man who served the country would get his chance before a jury. I believe the LAPD did this man so wrong. Pushed him to the point of snapping. My prayers go out for Dorner and all the innocent fallen officers. Edited February 13, 2013 by Coat. So, how about the two innocent citizens he killed for no viable reason? I have no respect for this man purely because he went too far with his killings. ryuclan
Honestly, I want this guy to be captured alive. Not because I endorse police and civilian killing but because I want to hear his story. I'm hoping he writes another manifesto or even records a video exposing all the sh*t he knows before the LAPD silence him.
FAH-Q
But they they just shrug off the innocent victims that were shot by police when they thought it was Dorner. Some aggressive ass cops. Not to mention the cops were on tape yelling "burn that motherf*cker!"
SmC12
I find it funny that the body they apparently found is too burned to identify along with everything else, yet they still managed to obtain his wallet and drivers license from the burning wreck. Not saying it's a conspiracy or anything, but they really want to close this case.
GTA-King
So he is confirmed to be dead? I'm really struggling on what to believe. I'm guessing the video above was caught on a police car camera?
OchyGTA
Seems that the LAPD are keen to close the case on this potential whistleblower. Shooting at civilians without checking that they were Dorner seems like a huge breach of conduct. He must no some pretty interesting stuff to have garnered this reaction. darthYENIK
I'm against conspiracy theories in this case, with the exception of maybe they are keeping it vague that they may or may not have found a body, and that it may or may not be him. Just to calm the public, and maybe save a little face for not being able to catch him. Because I don't know how many people here live in the Los Angeles area, but the local news is absolutely dominated by coverage of this. I'm not completely convinced of this, so don't judge me. All of this feels so close to home for me. I grew up in Moreno Valley, which is a town over from Riverside (a city I spent half my time in), where Officer Michael Crain was killed, and drove past the cemetery, where he was buried yesterday, hundreds of times. Dorner's mother lives about a half mile from my grandparents. And I used to run around those very woods where that cabin that burned down was. It's all kind of surreal. Like I said, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it must really piss the LAPD off that Dorner didn't kill anyone in their jurisdiction. They really seem like they're trying to get in on the Riverside PD and San Bernardino Sheriff's business, and trying to get some of the credit. At least that's what it seems like on the news. The LAPD, and the mayor of LA should not be holding press conferences for this case, because it's not theirs to handle.
