LMFAO. That's a very silly question. Whether people like it or not, Call of Duty games will not stop being produced. I don't play Call of Duty, but I know that these games literally rake in over a billion dollars for Activision and Treyarch. They have a formula that works well, so there is no need to stop.

 

I don't hate Call of Duty like most because I have never gotten into a Call Of Duty game, but I am sure I can into them if I wanted them.

Some news regrading the next Call Of Duty video game.

 

 

Activision social media manager Dan Amrich has said he expects 2013's entry in the Call of Duty series, which may be Modern Warfare 4, to be revealed no later than E3 in early June.

 

 

Speaking to fans in a YouTube video, he said: "We're still deep in the middle of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 cycle and there's still a lot more content to come, so you can understand why Activision hasn't really talked about next year yet, but they're going to have to soon, because E3 is coming up."

 

Amrich noted that the last two Call of Duty games were revealed in May 2011 and May 2012.

 

"If you're looking for information on the future, it's coming soon, it's just not here yet, it should be here no later than E3," he said.

 

"We also have the interesting problem of new hardware coming in. We've got a PS4, we've got whatever Xbox is working on - is that going to be this year, I don't know."

 

Last year, a CV belonging to an Infinity Ward software engineer suggested that the studio's next Call of Duty game will release on both current and next-gen consoles.

 

It has been heavily rumoured that Microsoft will reveal the next-gen Xbox at an as-yet-unannounced event on May 21, and given the platform holder's strong business ties to Activision's series, it wouldn't be surprising to hear some information about the next Call of Duty game around the same time"

Well im glad, seem to being going against the grain here but i still get excited by Call Of Duty.

Although i do hope it is more like the Modern Warfare series than Black Ops.

I actually think I might skip this release. If the reviews are better than 92 (which I recall MW3 getting from IGN) then I may get this.

 

I might also look at the YouTube videos of the game. If it's only new guns, perks, maps, and game modes, then I will definitely not get it. It will probably take something along the lines of a new game engine to get me to buy it. If it had a zombie mode, that would be another reason for me to get it.

 

I've always thought what it would be like with IW taking a turn at developing their own zombies mode.

 

I don't know, I'll probably come in this topic on the day of release, and ask people if it's worth getting or not.

 

If I do get it at all, it'll be when the game's half price or on sale.

I've been thinking about CoD. I actually think it's OK that it exists.

 

The thing I like about CoD is the fact that I can skip 3-4 games in the series and feel like I didn't miss a thing. So if I suddenly get the urge to play it I can get the latest one. That's how dumbed down the series is. I'm not insulting the game by saying it's dumbed down. That's a fact. And its actually it's greatest selling point.

You see, that's the problem. Call of Duty is excellent fun for the first few days or weeks (it varies for each person) that it releases. The maps, guns, HUD, aesthetics & sounds are all so new and exciting, that nobody will have anything bad to say about it.

 

And about IW doing Zombies: Nope. As much as I'd also love them to try it, Treyarch have rights over it as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway back on point, it confuses me why people hate on Call of Duty so much, i appreciate that some people don't like fact that its a yearly release and its the "Same sh*t" every year, but so is FIFA, Halo, Assassins Creed, any WWE game and basically every sports title.

 

I think switching it every year between Infinity Ward and Treyarch (and all the teams that help make it, Raven, Sledgehammer etc) Keeps it feeling fresher. I don't think anyone can honestly say that Black Ops and Black Ops 2 plays the same way MW2 or MW3 does.

 

So i if you don't enjoy Black Ops but enjoy the Modern Warfare series (Or vice versa) you know to just skip that particular title that year. And if your done with the Whole series regardless of who makes it, simple answer is, don't buy it.

All good points. I think people who say "Cod is the same game" are 99% people who hardly ever/if ever played the game, but say that just because everyone else does.

 

I think the development cycle is poorly managed and should last longer because of that so they can update graphics more and fix the engine up and all the glitches, however at the same time, I have to say, COD doesn't need to change. The game is based about gun on gun gameplay with killstreaks to mix it up, I don't see how there is much room for improvement at all, and nobody I ask can suggest anything other than adding vehicles, but vehicles aren't the point of the game, if you want vehicles, battlefield has that catered for you.

 

Call Of Duty has nailed fast-paced gun on gun gameplay with rewards for playing well which is what makes it so addictive, they can't and don't really need to change.
