kasparlaks
I mean, those who played 3D era games (SA, VC, III) might remember the way you entered interiors. There was an arrow next to the door and if you would step in it, the game would load, and you would be transmitted to an interior. I think this should return in V, if it allows other features to be implemented or even make the game faster.
kudoboi
no. if they ever do this GTA V would be a downgrade from IV and other open world games in general. if they ever want to do it the loading time would have to be extremely short and not noticeable like 0.1 or 0.2 seconds Edited February 8, 2013 by kudoboi
LotusRIP
I don't think they're willing to take a step backwards.

How about if they bring back fomr Vice City the loading screen when you fly to another island? Would be a great chance to rest the old gaming thumbs IMO
jpalmer2004
Was it GTA Vice City each island had to load before you crossed into them? For all the youngsters out there. Imagine being in your wildest police chase..Then... LOADING........ Young gamers these days are spoiled...I remember playing madden with no real commentary and each player was nothing more then different colored pixel... Baseball
There's no way they're gonna do that. Maybe even the animation in GTAIV wasn't that good, with the guy pushing the door open. Normally a door is open by rotating or pressing on a knob of some sort.
MrMateczko
Umm, what was wrong in the GTA IV system? Apart from clumsy animations, that will be fixed.

jamieleng
It was in IV but only when you entered a lift. I'm not sure if all the interiors it took you to were actually contained within the same building you entered but Playboy X's ex-apartment certainly was. I hope they keep it the same as IV (even if it means less interiors), because it really kept me immersed in the world. It also doesn't quite make them the safe havens they were in the III era. I Shot The Sheriff
No dude. I hated the fact that you can't even look ouside the window in SA... wait! even IV didn't allow you to do it. But... http://www.gtav.net/screenshots/#
simonp92
I'd much rather have the interior be actual interiors, than cells loaded in another world. I realise it would help performance, but that's the only positive thing about the method.

I fail to see how going back to walking into arrors to load interiors would allow for more features. Hidden interiors through the gym in SA! But no, those days are over for good. I'd much rather have interiors more closely interact with the outside world. If those windows in the screenshots actually work, it's going to be a nice leap in environmental immersion. I fail to see how going back to walking into arrors to load interiors would allow for more features. i'm pretty sure it would. if the interiors are all "teleports" to interiors rather than seamless interiors i really think it would open the possibility of more features as the processing required to illustrate these interiors in case you should enter them would not be necessary freeing up processing power for other features. sddales
I think you have a point. But at this point GTA's biggest feature by far is creating a believable level of immersion (notice my lack of the term realism). Load screens break that immersion. In fact, if I was to make a suggestion, there would be less load screens. It would use the Max Payne style of loading where the cutscenes were seamlessly blended with the rest of the game. NOTE: If I could, I would post the gif of Michael from the office screaming no to illustrate my personal distaste with the suggestion. That being said, it's not the worst suggestion in the world. But that being said, have some faith in the ability of R* to make this game everything it should be.
AirWolf856
There has got to be some sort of rendering trick that R* could use so they don't have to render all interiors at the same time. I would love if there were some sort of indicator that identified a building that has an interior. For example, a store that shows it wares in the front window. If it was 3d models of the wares, then it would be a shop you can enter. There would be a background that would darken the further you are away to signify that the rendering of the inside has stopped. The closer you get the more clear the window would get. It wouldn't render the interior until you step through the door.

dangr
The graphics should also be like those in the 3d ERA. This could make the game run even faster.
