69_black_69
Soo, i've been listening to my favorite songs over and over again, and eventually i got bored. Can't actually talk to my real life friends because their taste in music is much different than me, they listen to Pop, Rap, Kpop, Justin Bieber, or whatever. Not that i hate Pop or whatever, it just that i mostly didn't enjoy a Pop songs. So i need you guys to recommend me band/singer to listen to. I'm not good at identifying what genre of my kind of music i like, so i just throwing out some name of my most favorite band/singer, and here it is. Paramore Avenged Sevenfold Breaking Benjamin Disturbed System of A Down Jimmy Eat World Foo Fighter All American Reject Audioslave 30 Second to Mars Bullet for my Valentine ( well, just some of their song is good) Coldplay Papa Roach Oasis The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus So, please recommend me some music with the same kind of genre, or style, or beat, or whatever. I just need to hear a new songs entering into my ears and projecting awesomeness into my brain.
The-King
Just to say considering that list and your lack of stigma against mainstream music, you might enjoy My Chemical Romance, I never thought I'd be reccomending them, but they're actually quite good mostly considering Gerard Way is an amazing front-man. The Black Parade is a damn good album, and Danger Days is god damned incredible and a really great example of how a band can mature. Also, a few more from my library, all of pretty widely varying styles of rock: Weezer Red Hot Chili Peppers Sea Wolf Metric The White Stripes Vampire Weekend Maximo Park Minus The Bear This Town Needs Guns Ben Folds Death Cab For Cutie Meg and Dia Portugal, The Man Edited February 8, 2013 by The-King |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
Cosmic Gypsy
If you like Oasis, you might like Blur, pretty much the same but Blur don't usually have the fake American accent. And often aren't as cheesy as Oasis.
69_black_69
Thanks for the reply, i'll check them all soon. @The King already heard some of MCR songs, and yeah, some of them are really catchy. I'll definetly check the album you said. And for your other list, there's 3 band that i've already heard their songs, that is Metric, RHCP, and Wezzer. Can you recommend me one of their masterpiee? @Cosmic Sounds good to me . I'll check em.

Cheat
Placebo, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, Sum 41, Yellowcard, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and MCR are some "emo punk" bands you could like. If you're up for some harder music, try Bring Me The Horizon, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, As I Lay Dying and All That Remains.

69_black_69
I've updated the list above, and keep it simple on what kind of band i'm really into, and what isn't. @Cheat : Cool. Added to list. @Ccrogers : Black Eyed Peas suck ( no offense), some of dubstep and techno are cool, but that's not what i'm after. Paramore is awesome. Don't know about Aaliyah and TLC. I'll try it. @Waste : I ain't afraid of anything. I'll try it.
GreatGig
Kudos for trying out all the suggestions A lot of what I would have suggested has already been mentioned so I'll just name a few that I can think of right now: Nico Vega Jeff Buckley Adema Imagine Dragons Frank Turner The Weeknd Low The XX Passion Pit Dirty Heads I think that's enough for now, don't want to bog you down, so I hope you enjoy most of them. I've tried to go for some varied tastes that branch off of what you like. @ The-King: It's odd that you mentioned The Black Parade. Like yourself, I never really thought I'd recommend it to anyone but I found myself doing that just the other day with someone in work. It took me a while to find merit in some songs, but now that I have I definitely agree that it's a pretty damn good album.

The Hippie
Well, judging by the list of bands you've listened to and the current list you've been assembling, here's a few recommendations: The Verve (Bittersweet symphony, Lucky man) The Smashing Pumpkins (1979, Disarm) Not a huge Smashing pumpkins fan, but I really like those two songs. The Sheepdogs (I don't know, feeling good) New band, play a more 70's style of rock though. You might like it. The offspring (Self esteem, Original prankster) The Decemberists (Down by the water) I really like this tune. Stereophonics (Maybe tomorrow) Heard this song in a movie and had to find it. Spacehog (In the meantime, The last dictator, Zeroes) 3 good tunes. Radiohead (Karma police) Didn't like this song at first, but it really grew on me. Now one of my favourites. Live (I alone, Lightning crashes) Greenday (Boulevard of Broken dreams, Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia, When I come around) Collective soul (December, Shine, The world I know) Billy Talent (Devil in a midnight mass, Rusted from the rain, Try honesty) 3 doors down (Kryptonite, be like that) So I hope that helps a bit. Keep us posted. I'd also recommend you check out more of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. That's one of my top bands.
