Real animal cruelty and violence sucks. But seriously, it's not a real dog. And seriously, sometimes I feel a bit like I'm on the petco forums. I really do hope this is the last chop topic that comes up for a while. Jesus man, relax, no need to be so aggressive, some people actually get immersed in the story and become attached to characters and some will see him as something other than 'just a dog'. Agree with you. Whats the point of creating a good story if you dont care about the characters? Doesn't matter if its a dog or human. I would love to see some kind of sad moments in GTA V, feel like IV had none of them. GTA IV didn't have sad moments? The whole game was depressing as hell. You ever eat the same food every day until you hate it? That's what it was and maybe what it still is with Chop topics for me. Almost everything on this forum is speculation, that's R* being stingy with the story info & that's how I like it. Why is there so much obsession over this dog who honeslty cares if it dies or not that not important imo We've seen more of 'Chop' than Michael's family or Trevor & Franklin's friends and he was featured in the first artwork (i think) I'd say he's a very important character. @Kai Jellyboo I said speculation, not a complete shot in the dark. If he does absoutley nothing but walk around with you, and run and distract enemies count me out. If his death was taking a bullet for you, that'd be quite cliche in my opinion, maybe they should have it so that Franklin is fighting the antagonist or one of the antagonists on a construction site of some sort and Chop leaps onto the antagonists chest taking him down with him into some sort of machine. Okay now I'm just rambling, but if Chop dies I would be quite sad. Also to the people who say 'GTA is pixels, why get sad over it?' Please note, that some people see video games as an art-form, a way of telling a story that grabs the audience while also provoking emotion. If you like video games for fun, that's fun but please at least try to be considerate of the people who also play video games for a good story-telling experience as well as fun included. I don't really get all that attached to animals, but I'll admit that I DID shed a tear or two at that scene in I Am Legend, so if GTA V can make me do the same, kudos to the story writers. SP3CTR3 Posted February 8, 2013 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Ever since it was confirmed Franklin has a pet dog, Chop, it's constantly been a thought in my head that we'll see something bad happen to Chop at a certain point in the narrative. Think about it, you have this amazing companion who you take on walks and go for long drives with, you develop an emotional connection with him and Franklin and Franklin adores him, so he means something not only to Franklin but in turn you as well. This is the perfect oppertunity for R* to shock us and bring tears out of all their fans, taking Chop away in a horrific and 'perfect storm' fashion (perfect storm meaning the worst possible things happening at the worst possible times, i.e perfect storm) and then send you immediately on a revenge mission, with tears in your eyes and Franklin's as well, experiencing the emotional trauma together and the ulitmate satisfaction of slaughtering the man responsible in any way you choose. In no way am I saying I hope this happens, I already see myself falling in-love with this dog, I want the opposite - however in my opinion I see it as a disturbingly high possibility. What do you guys think? Discuss. i could see that happening. i am the type that gets immersed in the story so that would be a big part in taking revenge big time.
