Crumplet Posted February 8, 2013 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Ever since it was confirmed Franklin has a pet dog, Chop, it's constantly been a thought in my head that we'll see something bad happen to Chop at a certain point in the narrative. Think about it, you have this amazing companion who you take on walks and go for long drives with, you develop an emotional connection with him and Franklin and Franklin adores him, so he means something not only to Franklin but in turn you as well. This is the perfect oppertunity for R* to shock us and bring tears out of all their fans, taking Chop away in a horrific and 'perfect storm' fashion (perfect storm meaning the worst possible things happening at the worst possible times, i.e perfect storm) and then send you immediately on a revenge mission, with tears in your eyes and Franklin's as well, experiencing the emotional trauma together and the ulitmate satisfaction of slaughtering the man responsible in any way you choose. In no way am I saying I hope this happens, I already see myself falling in-love with this dog, I want the opposite - however in my opinion I see it as a disturbingly high possibility. Of course it's just a video game there's nothing wrong wih geting lost in a video game and enjoying the realism it brings.. Nice topic OP. Rockstar are the kings with this sorta thing.. Agree with you. Whats the point of creating a good story if you dont care about the characters? Doesn't matter if its a dog or human. I mean, you could take two of the protagonists and play chicken with a train and a fighter jet. Yet everyone just talks about the dog. I mean, I guess the dog will be a cool character, but you could skydive off of a skyscraper covered in sticky bombs, then watch the explosion as another protagonist just walking down the street. A good one is one where you can relate and feel close to the characters in it. I bet you're all just the people who watch films to see all the action, stare at hot girls and ignore the plot, open books to look at the pictures or play games to just drive around and fly planes and do stupid sh*t. Ill be so upset if Chop dies. Probably more than i would be if michael/franklin or trevor died. I hate seeing animals real or fictional being hurt. There will be a mission where you take control of Chop and you and your dog friends go on a trip across the country to find your real family. This will be possible because of the next gen consoles. AirWolf856 Posted February 8, 2013 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Seeing that Chop is probably Franklin's weakness and the easiest to harm (loaded dog food), I would think the "bad guys" would skin Chop and hang him in Franklin's garage.
