The wait for you..

Every time a thread like this is brought up, those one guys come out of the woodwork that like to make others feel bad for "not having lives" and looking forward to V maybe a little more than they should and like to rub it in the faces of everyone that they have standard things like jobs, girlfriends, social lives, etc. Well...cool. -__-

Little do they know that some people have a a job, a wife, & kids and spend a lot of their free time on these forums(i.e. me), so having a so called "life"(which many immature people consider as drinking/smoking, partying, fornicating, and all activities revolving around these things.) is grossly overrated, and truth be told it's better a lot of times to be able to just play video games and watch movies without having to worry about and deal with some of the annoying side effects that come with people.(most of whom are fake and fickle.)

 

On a side note I love my wife and kids, but I know what your saying.(don't sweat it.)

So, as we all know, there is another seven months for GTA V to sit right on our laps. To some, "seven months" have their eyes read the same as SEVEN MONTHS! while for others, their eyes have themselves read the exact same thing as seven months

 

Personally, it is going to be a mix for me; this month and the next month of my life will be occupied by the final exams and the next two months - when info will probably high and dry - will be boring ( that's the summer over here). But, the good thing is that the "boring phase" will only be two months for me since June is when the final gracious marketing should start with the hands-on previews, trailers and sh*t!

 

So, tell me how long is the "boring phase" is going to be for you, if there is one.

Well all you have to wait is the months of school left because you know summer will fly by like a week

The wait is even easier when you play games that are similar to GTA V. For example i'm playing Sleeping Dogs now and while i'm really enjoying it, it lacks that Rockstar touch and i already know GTA V will be in another leageau, but it;s still really cool that some great alternatives are out there. Hell...i might even decide to give Saints Row 3 a chance, unless i really shouldn't, but how terrible can it really be?

 

Also....this 'competition' is great for Rockstar AND for us. It's not truly competition for Rockstar, a game like Sleeping Dogs, but they DO bring new ideas in that game and other stuff that Rockstar could definitely take a look at. At the end of the day it will mean only good news for us. Let's say GTA V comes out in September this year, it will no doubt be another five years or more until the sixth GTA comes out, during next-gen we will definitely see a second Sleeping Dogs no doubt and maybe more similar to GTA games, all of these 'newcomers' will be great alternatives until a new GTA comes out. Good news really i'd say.

Yeah, man. I played SD back in August when it came out just to have a game similar to GTA to play....it wasn't the same. But it was decent while it lasted.

 

Haven't played it since though after I beat it.

Well i have to hones. In its own right the game is really enjoyable and very good. Consider the fact that these developers are not well known with this genre, or let alone...i don't think they even made a whole lot of games yet. As much as i loved GTA IV, it really lacked something and that was especially mission variety. So far SD got this nailed down. You get all kinds of missions and they definitely aren't very short either. Plus they use lots of interiors in this game, you got on foot chases through buildings and alleyways. While roaming around i found a enterable shopping mall and some general building. This is the kind of stuff i'm hoping and expecting to see in GTA V as well, lots more interiors and let some missions take place in there.

 

I'm enjoying the combat system as well, its great to trash these folks around for fun and what not. I keep hoping for a seriously improved combat system in GTA V, but i pretty much know we won't be seeing a world of difference with GTA IV and RDR. It's just very good that Rockstar isn't the only one in this. This 'competition' keeps them a bit on their toes and doing even more to make the game incredible. It's a bit like....there's Microsoft and there's Sony. Sony quits with consoles and MS is the leader...they could be making nothing but Halo games and what not and every consolegamer would still get their system, cause Sony ain't around. Sony however IS around and keeps bringing new IP's to the table, and this should keep MS on their toes and always trying even harder. Not trying to say Rockstar wouldn't deliver masterpieces anymore if there wasn't any other developers making a similar game, but it's always good

next 7 months ill be working on my truck luckily i got that to do and some other games and new movies and work. . . . . its insane that we have to wait 7 months, but i guess it will be worth the wait.

I think a lot of people, including me think it will be what GI wrote in the cover story, and then some more. You know, the character switching and the main theme being heists. And i'm expecting much more variety in the missions, especially because of this approach. But then there's also missions that are just for one character. But after what Strauss Zelnick said, which of course could simply be some talk, talk is cheap i know, but still after what he said, i have a feeling we indeed simply don't know what kind of stuff we really are going to see and get to play in GTA V. I mean..we were all blown away by GTA IV at the time, when RDR came out...man it was almost like art really and Max Payne 3 was a fantastic third person shooter, GTA V being their last current-gen game, their most ambitious game yet and all that...yeah i bet it's going to be pretty damn special. Thinking about it like that...i can wait 7 months easily. I can wait for that anyway, no problem..but we know we can expect a crazy awesome game.
