Secura
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=517701 "How would you fix Assassin's Creed 4?" Some pretty good answers in that thread. For one I'd like them to add a few abilities into the game that allowed us to better interact with the environment. For example grabbing items and using them as weapons, slicing things in half to make an escape and greatly upgrade the parkour system so that whenever we're running across the rooftops it feels new and thrilling. Hell, just being able to slice ropes down on a ship and see people who are climbing up them fall into the ocean, or kick down ladders when climbing up a building to prevent guards from getting to you easily would be fantastic. Having hidden assassinations like shaking someone's hand and killing them with the hidden blade to strangling them with a piece of wire. Oh and give the modern day storyline more time or ditch it, I'm tired of being constantly teased with the possibly of playing as a modern day Assassin and never truly getting to realise that dream, that wasted potential. Ubisoft, if you're going to somehow bring Desmond back (which isn't impossible, subject sixteen being proof of this) please give him more screen time. He actually became a little more likable in III because he got more time to shine so give us time to grow on him in the next game, if you don't bother with doing that then don't bother putting the modern world sections in at all. After all the things that I just mentioned I suppose the thing that I crave the most in Assassin's Creed is for the gameworld to be more immersive, more destructible and more fun to dick around in. That's what made me love the first Assassin's Creed, because everything felt so new, so ... promising. Now though it feels like they're trying to milk it for everything it's got, though I could be wrong and I really hope Ubisoft proves me to be wrong as I'd hate Assassin's Creed IV to become the worst game in the series (a title that III currently holds) since games should get better with each passing release, not worse. Oh and stop over hyping the game, so much of the stuff that they'd promised in Assassin's Creed III simply wasn't there in the game so I'm hoping that this time, everything that they say, they mean. So if they say you can get through the whole game without being seen even once, I want to be able to do that, if they say that we'll see two thousand NPC's in the gameworld at once randomly then I expect to able to see that too. If they over hype and under deliver then they're the only ones to blame for that, I'm just hoping that this is the game that's going to rekindle my love for the game. Lastly, kill Danny Wallace's character, as painfully and slowly as possible.
El Dildo
well I think the best way to fix Assassins Creed - if we all had to agree on just one thing to change - is to get rid of the future/present segments. I'm pretty confident that almost NO ONE gives a sh*t about Desmond, Lucy (while she was alive), that annoying Asian bitch, or that annoying English twat. and we really don't give a sh*t about Desmond's dad and his issues. seriously. no one cares. we just want to play bad ass ancient Assassins. no one cares about the end of the world. no one cares about Adam and Eve. no one cares about the Apple unless we get to use it, and even then its boring, because it's a God-mode weapon. just suck it up and cut the extra fat away. if you cut out all the modern day crap, think of all the extra content (by virtue of disk space) you could add to the game itself. hobointheyard
I totally agrees Diablo, I'm not looking forwards to this new AC, Pirates, really? It seems Ubisoft is really pushing it, I'd like to see Shao Jun or someting in China or Japan.

papanesta
So we won't get to see the Aquila? Shame. No-one ever said that'd be the case, I'll have you know that the Aquila used to be a very good looking and well functioning ship, it wouldn't surprise me to see it make a cameo in Black Flag. Well the timeline suggests it won't be, unless the game does continue into when Haytham was young. that annoying Asian bitch I honestly never once thought Rebecca was Asian. She mentions being of Prussian descent. Doesn't mean an Asian element wasn't introduced at some point, but she never looked it to me. Also, I couldn't disagree more with the rest of your post, but then again, I'm a science fiction fan.
Colonel_Buttfuck
I've always hated feeling like I was in a computer program while playing Assassin's Creed. Digital walls blocking you from parts of the city, "synchronization" and so on. Please Ubi, just skip it! No more Animus, no more present time! 100% open world pirate bonanza is what I want! Also the ultimate hype song ^ Edited March 4, 2013 by Colonel_Buttfuck

If you take that away then there is no point in calling it AC as that is what AC is all about. It seems you just want a pirate game which is fine but AC will be more than that and there is no way that they will get rid of the animus etc.

I've never paid much attention to the whole "Desmond" story. I don't even know who this "Juno" in ACIII is. I'm a fan of Desmond's bloodline however. I want a genuine historical game without digital restrictions that break the atmosphere and immersion. Pirate setting or not, that is what I really want. The pirate story is just an added bonus since I've taken an interest in pirates lately. Edited March 4, 2013 by Colonel_Buttfuck

Rebel
I hope they finally sort out all of those annoying bugs that were in 3 - if they even do half of them its going to be way more enjoyable. I'm liking the pirate idea, I guess there was a reason for that boating mini game inside 3 - get some good practise in haha. It says its going to be out for Nov 1st? & also mentions about being on next gen consoles? Seems interesting.

papanesta
Beyond seafaring, though (and as with its predecessors), certain parts of Black Flag's campaign will also take place in the present day - but don't expect to see the return of Desmond Miles. "With AC3, we ended the narrative arc of Desmond," says Guesdon. Instead, the player itself is the lead character in the present day, tasked with researching the memories of Edward Kenway. "The interesting thing that happened in December 2012 is that the real world and the fictitious world merged," continues Guesdon. "From December 21, we're now in the same world as the Assassin's Creed universe - so you are now a part of the AC universe. You will be yourself in the main present day. You're researching the memories of Edward Kenway. You will be the present day hero researching Edward Kenway and being part of that conspiracy." How exactly that will function, though, or whether the mechanic will support cross-device play like Watch Dogs, is not entirely clear. Will players be able to research Kenway using their smartphones? Only time will tell. Ha ha, what?! I guess that's that question answered.
