TheGodDamnMaster
Just started watching the Arrow a few weeks back, now also watching the Flash... Like them both, but for the Arrow... does it get less focused on Queen's friends/families weird love interest and constant conversations about how they feel about sh*t, or is that how the show stays on CW? Like I said, I like Arrow, and could possibly love it, but I'm sick of "We need to talk" and then a long bs exposition about nothing relevant, just feelings. Flash has a lot less of that and seems more Easter-egg comic-nerd goodness. Love the twin cities they haven't really referenced but shown in visual form a lot, as well as "Channel 52". I find the flashbacks in Arrow to be far more interesting than the present events and drama of Oliver's life back home. Yes, it's partly because it's a CW show that they need that sh*t in there, what with all of the Oliver and Felicity shippers that infest every corner of the internet. I'm liking the Flash a bit more than Arrow as of now. It's a little lighter, the acting's better I think, and the relationship between Barry and his foster father is really well done. AlienTwo
Agreed on all fronts, I really do like the flashbacks and they are getting quite interesting. My first thought was 'Why the f*ck would he have a stupid hood when he's been alone on an island for all that time?" but as we move forward through his flashbacks, that island is becoming a major set-piece for the whole show. I'm only at episode 12 or so, where he is really training with the Aussie, and I have no idea what is going on there. But in a good way... http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u330/AlienTwo/GTA/PMBO/PBMO%20Porch%20Sig_2_zpsz7irpplx.png
darthYENIK
As has been said in this topic. The first season is very CW soap opera-y. It gets better toward the end, and overall even in the action packed second season, it's still soapy. This season, so far in the two episodes, hasn't really had a focus. I was really hoping Komodo would've been the "big bad" of this season with Ra's al Ghul coming in later as the "bigger bad", but they completely f*cked Komodo like they did with Vertigo, so they're probably going straight to Ra's, which isn't bad. I'm just pissed because they teased me with Komodo, and gave me a character that is only Komodo in name (and mask). Komodo is supposed to be able to handle Oliver. He should've been able to handle the peons he was sent to kill without even getting close. His archery skills are comparable, if not higher than Oliver, yet he has to chase down these guys down? The Komodo in the comics, first off, wouldn't be doing contract killing, and second would've been able to pick those guys off without getting close. I'm thinking that they thought Komodo was too close of a character to Malcolm Merlyn. Billionaire tycoon, expert archer, secret society member, ties to Oliver's parents, father of Oliver's half sister, black hood and mask. If that was the case, I'd rather they just have kept Simon LeCroix (Komodo) out of the show and gave Merlyn the name, "Komodo", since he really doesn't have a code name. krashr
i really enjoyed the second flash episode. it feels like the writing and acting is starting to mesh together well, hopefully that continues
TheGodDamnMaster
I'm looking forward to Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller reuniting as Heat Wave and Captain Cold. With Clock King set to return it's like this show is some kind of Prison Break reunion and I'm loving it. Cult Of Personality
I'm actually liking The Flash. It's a lot better than Arrow in my opinion (although I only watched the first few episodes of Arrow). The Professor is Reverse Flash, right? That's what they're hinting at with all these teasers at the end. Edited October 23, 2014 by In Bed With Jed krashr and AlienTwo
krashr
i am too.. but i would still recommend, as others have above, that you give arrow a go for the second season goodness. the humour and writing of the flash is pretty good so far imo and the difference between pilot ep and second ep was good. i found the pilot to have a lot of blek "explainy" scenes that pilot's usually suffer from, but after 3 episodes it seems to be finding a nice groove (there is still a little cheese though) AlienTwo and darthYENIK
TheGodDamnMaster
I was really disappointed with this week's episode. Malcolm is my favorite villain by far and we didn't get much of him at all. I think were only two scenes he had with Thea and they were his only lines in the episode. The rogue ARGUS agent wasn't a very interesting villain either. One thing I will say is that I'm pleased Diggle is getting more screen time. TheGodDamnMaster
Great episode of The Flash tonight. Wentworth Miller was great as Captain Cold. Can't say I was too entertained with Mary Sue's guest appearance. krashr 1 Intel Core i9-9900k | Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W | 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHzMSI GeForce RTX2070 | WD Blue 1TB HDD | Samsung 950 PRO M.2 512GBAntec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower | MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC

AlienTwo
So Black Driver Lyla's baby daddy What else does Diggle do? He comes in when the Arrow is about to die and, with bullets, makes it not happen. krashr 1 http://i516.photobucket.com/albums/u330/AlienTwo/GTA/PMBO/PBMO%20Porch%20Sig_2_zpsz7irpplx.png
Cult Of Personality
It's great to see Wentworth Miller again. I don't know what happened to him after Prison Break but I expected him to go onto bigger and greater things. Regardless, I get to see him now. If Flash just keeps getting better (as it's doing currently) then I might have to force myself to watch Arrow. They're planning loads of crossovers, right? I think I might enjoy it more if I've seen both series. krashr

IDredMan
Come on... He's only been on camera for 5 seconds... It's not too late to get an actor change for Ra's Al Ghul. Or at least buy the actor a house for him to get ready in or something. Ra's Al Ghul's always had snazzy-ass hair. Whether it's the animated series, comics or Liam Neeson. This f*cking guy looks like a bum. And didn't Liam Neeson say a while back that he could play Ra's Al Ghul in this? What happened to that? This episode was pretty good, I liked John Barrowman and Paul Blackthorn. Nyssa was also an enjoyable character. But it left a horrible taste in my mouth from that underwhelming-ass ending and that Ra's Al Ghul actor. BLEH! The Flash episode was also great. And I mean great. While Felicity was never my favorite character in Arrow, she was a welcomed guest in Flash. Her and Barry had some pretty good scenes. Captain Cold, yays. If they do the Rogues as a timekiller plot until the future stuff comes into play (Wells. Reverse Flash. Thawne.) which I think is what will happen, since Reverse Flash is gonna be in a near episode. And a time-killer plot is a lot better than having a weekly one-off with a few scenes developing the arch that has the awesome ending. This week would be a tie between the Flash and Agents Of Shield. Those 2 seem to be my favorite, followed closely by Gotham and Arrow lagging behind.
Girish
This f*cking guy looks like a bum. lol, that's exactly what I thought. He's neither the Ra's Al Ghul we deserve nor the one we need right now. BRING BACK LIAM NEESON! TheGodDamnMaster and AlienTwo

darthYENIK
With Batman related characters in live action show, I've come to accept that no matter who plays who, they'll never have the voices of Batman The Animated Series. In this case, Ra's was voiced by David Warner, a great character actor was in everything in the 90s. Even Neeson falls short to him in my mind. IDredMan
The thing about the Flash is ...It f*cked Arrow. Hard. You see, Arrow came in with just the right material in the right time. We had gotten a taste of the full on unrealistic superheroey DC universe with Man Of Steel and Superman Returns, which are the worst Superman movies ever made. And we also got a taste of it with the old 4 Batman movies, which some say almost ruined Batman as a character. But we also had a taste of the more realistic, gritty, down to earth, way less generic superheroey look at the DC Universe with the Nolan trilogy, which have been hailed as the best movies of all time. And Arrow came in with a Nolan-like formula. It may have had some issues, but we'd always keep going because we knew they'd somehow be ruined if done like they are in the comics. We stuck through everything, we stuck though the bootleg-ass versions of characters we loved. In fear of them being ruined. But then the Flash got on Air, and suddenly it all changed. We'v seen the other side... I suddenly don't feel the slight joy I felt when Arrow did Solomon Grundy. I don't want him to be a 'roided out assholes. I want him to be a giant zombie asshole! I don't want the Royal Flush Gang to look like DLC for Payday: The Heist. I want them to kick ass. I don't want Firefly to be the villain of the worst episode of the show. I want him to be a flying motherf*cker with a flamethrower. We'v seen the other side. We'v seen how good it can be. And we want more. Also, I'd appreciate it if the actor for Ra's Al Ghul had a car accident and got replaced by Liam Neeson.
darthYENIK
I think Arrow needs to pull out some more unrealistic villain. True super villains. Which was what I was hoping Count Vertigo would be. Or they need a compelling new story, that's what I was hoping Komodo and a possible Outsiders War would be. They completely f*cked those ideas, so I'm really hoping Ra's and the Assassins make things interesting. IDredMan
IDredMan
This episode sucked dick. There's just no putting it gently. This was completely awful. Felicity's story, flashbacks, mom plot and f*cking hacker ex-boyfriend were agonizing. And the Roy scene at the end was DISGUSTINGLY bad. The only good thing about this show so far is Ray Palmer. He's the consistently good character of this show. Ray Palmer to this show is Penguin to Gotham. Except for the fact that Ray Palmer doesn't really bring in any plot lines. I know he's the Atom but ..So what? The only thing I can say gently about this show is that it's not gonna get another season at this horrible rate. And since The Flash and AoS didn't air this week... This week surprisingly goes to Gotham.
Moonshield
Felicity's fake as hell wig and her ankh had me rolling. This episode was dickcheese.
darthYENIK
I didn't think it was that bad. It gave me something I've wanted for a while, which is for Felicity to be more fleshed out. She really just shows up in a tight skirt and hacks. Even in the Flash episode she's just a character there to hold a mirror to Barry. But here, we see here home, we meet her mother, we see her past, and get a hint at why she sticks around. Her ex-boyfriend's motivations are not too believable, and sure this episode goes against my desire for them to find a compelling overall story arc, but I don't think it was that bad on it's own.
