I think I'm gonna have a 'Best of Superhero TV' thing once a week, deciding which of all the four shows (AoS, Gotham*, Flash and Arrow) comes out on top for me personally. *Gotham is a Superhero show first, then a cop show second. The amount of garbage character development that's supposed to be 'whole' because they're comic book characters is too much. And the amount of cop show stuff is too little. The climax was pretty f*cking awful. Like god damn, that was sh*t (Talking about the new Count Vertigo... Not the Black Canary thing). The flashbacks were too uninformative. Like little droplets of nothing. And the Black Canary thing was meh. Just meh. I hope it gets good. But for this episode... It was meh. Staying away from coupling Oliver and Felicity was a good idea, in my opinion. I never really found Felicity an interesting characters, and making her the protagonist's love interest/damsel in distress would have just been pushing it. Overall, I'd say Flash took it this week. I know I said it's disqualified cause I saw it 6 months ago... But it's kinda unfair to do that.. Since it was better than all the other ones combined this week. Cult Of Personality Posted October 9, 2014 Share Posted October 9, 2014 The Flash pilot worked for me. The cast seem fine, acting was fine, effects were fine and story seemed true to the comics. I like how all the "carrot sticks" were subtle enough and they weren't forcing it into your face and insulting your intelligence. My only gripe (if you can call it one): I wish the death of the mother was a little more subtle. I think it would've been better if Barry doesn't mention seeing a person in the lightning bolt. It makes speculation and dicussion that much better. "Hey, did you see a figure of a head in that lightning bolt?" "Yeah, was that reverse flash?". It's not terrible though. The fighting is good and the acting is so so. They should have made it a web movie as opposed to a web series. Some episodes are under 10 minutes and it's just not enough. His father was the ruler of a small European country, and was overthrown. Him and his mother feld to Canada. With no money she turned to prostitution. She then turned Werner over to an orphanage where they implant the children with devices that give them telekinetic powers. Werner becomes the strongest, and eventually escapes leaving a trail of bodies. He later reclaims his throne with money and power earned through his criminal empire. darthYENIK Posted October 11, 2014 Share Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Komodo: is the head of the Arrow clan,(also this is from memory, and I'm not in the best state of mind right now, so excuse any errors) who are part of a larger group of warriors called the Outsiders (not to be confused with The other Outsiders). He was a friend or protégé of Robert Queen, the old leader of the Arrow clan, and inherited the title when Robert was killed. Komodo sees Oliver as a pretender. He's doing the Outsider's work without being part of the clan, as well as being a threat to his claim as the leader of the clan. So Simon Lacroix (Komono's alter ego) frames Oliver for the murder of the CEO of Queen Indusrties who was Robert's best friend. And so Oliver becomes a fugitive for a while. Long story short, Komodo wants more than just the Arrow clan he wants to take over all of the Outsiders, and even rallies a couple other clans (I think there are five clans, Arrow, Sword, Shield, Axe and Fist), and thus an "Outsiders war" begins. It's also important to note that Komono "adopted" Robert Queen and Shado's love child (Emiko) who he trains in the tradition of the Arrow clan, and eventually turns on him when she finds out that Shado is alive, and becomes Oliver's sidekick for all of one issue before they wrote her off in the latest issue (#35). Not like that's going to happen, though, considering it's too close to the story with Thea and Malcolm. But it's cool, because Emiko is basically Hitgirl but with a bow and arrow, and less foul language. Once again sorry if I missed anything or messed anything up. Edit (after watching the new episode): What the f*ck?! Did Komodo seem anything like I just described in this post? That's because they did the full Vertigo treatment on him. Took away all of his coolest aspects and made him a two bit hit man. f*cking hate this show sometimes. Like them both, but for the Arrow... does it get less focused on Queen's friends/families weird love interest and constant conversations about how they feel about sh*t, or is that how the show stays on CW? Like I said, I like Arrow, and could possibly love it, but I'm sick of "We need to talk" and then a long bs exposition about nothing relevant, just feelings. Flash has a lot less of that and seems more Easter-egg comic-nerd goodness.
