K20 Posted February 4, 2013 Share Posted February 4, 2013 Its a fact that rockstar meets up with sony and microsoft employees to talk about their plans and releases, so what if they have to release the pc version after a next gen version (if there is one) so that if you want to play gta v as a pc gamer you have to buy a ps3/360 or a next gen console, and if you are a 360/ps3 player and you want to enjoy a better graphical quality you have to buy a next gen console or !wait! for the pc version and buy a gaming pc. Rockstar would be insane if they release gta v only on next gen.so they gonna release this game on current gen and maybe later on next gen. This user makes one of the most valid points, People who still believe that its for next gen, I am pretty sure don't even believe it them self, this is the OP way for attention and see how far he can drag this out, this has been discussed 100s of times and it has been shut down. I can't imagine anyone being so stupid that they could not find one post using the search for next gen being discussed. People who have already set up their preorders for xbox360/ps3 would be highly disappointing and would cancel their orders with the vendor of choice, this would then cause the vendor to lose money and the loss would fall back on Rockstar. This would be a bad investment for Rockstar to pull a bait and switch. Also this whole sign the PC release petition is another sad cry for attention. They usually announce the consoles first then PC 4+ mo later. This is good marketing, Those who own a console will play it to death, then they will sell you a second copy for your PC to mod the heck out of it. Till then all you can do is make speculations and assumptions and cry like a little school girl and be an attention wh*re.. Sony and Microsoft have not even released anything about there next gen yet, and when they do it could still be a year out before they hit the market. Do you know the amount of refunds that would need to be dished out with just pre orders alone? Not to mention that they have come out and said they wanted to push the limits with the PS3/XBox 360 platforms? Let's not get carried away. No one thinks that. People think that it might be released for both gens. People thought that with SA too... "Ooo next gen is sooo close, SA will be for both" or "They will remake SA for ps3 and 360 (both were on the cusp of being announced, like now)". What really happened was SA came for Xbox and PS2... then 360 and PS3 came out, then years later GTA IV come out on the new systems. I cant see this being any different. Are people forgetting that when a new console drops, the first 6months/year is CRAP in terms of titles to buy. MS especially seem to be doing everything they can to bring down costs. The Durango looks like its going to have a cheap as chips GPU in it. Both consoles will be way cheaper than last time with a much better launch line up than last time. Pick up will be far quicker. The install base will increase much faster than it did in 2006/7 Yet again on these forums after pages of discussion no one can give a valid reason why Rockstar won't bring GTAV out across the generations. Yet there are perfectly valid reasons why they should do it. Other studios are doing it. Lots of studios did it last time. Remember the first Just Cause game was a cross generation game? The hardware has long since been leaked by third party studios who have the dev kits. They're by no means final confirmation but they give a good idea. Sony have pretty much admitted behind the scenes they don't want to make a mega expensive console again. Plus I know a lot of people in games industry and they all say the dev kits for the next gen machines are way easier to program for which means no crazy unique and expensive parts.
