I didn't even realise he had any ashes to be honest, I thought he just kept the mask on some kind of memorial stand lol. Luke must have gathered up whatever remained of his funeral pyre at the time, since it didn't burn very well (according to how the mask looks in TFA) and Kylo stole them when he first rebelled. It might have even been the start of him turning to the dark side, if he felt some kind of darkness coming from the mask and he started to become obsessed with Vader since he was his own family, though likely from being egged on subconsciously by Snoke.

See how long you can make through this video. Darth Maul has some real sick moves.

This comes from Rolling Stone Magazine which I have and it shows Vader suffer a tremendous blow to the top of his helmet. It even almost looks like his brain was removed lol. Poor Vader, what have they done to you?

His helmet didn't "suffer a blow", it melted in the funeral pyre.

As a kid watching ROTJ I always thought it was just Vaders suit that got burned, I never thought his body was actually in the pyre.

I also like a Snoke is Plagueis in Vader's body, and the Emperor was Plagueis in Palpatines body theory I read recently. It fits nicely with me thinking Vader's body was not actually burnt.

Unlikely but a nice twist on the whole saga.

Lol his body became one with the force, so that means there was no body to begin with, the suit was melted as you can see in the pic. Luke saw his fathers force ghost right at the end.

Here's the thing, according to wookipedia, Vader's entire body armor was fireproof and blasterproof. I'm actually rather confused as to why his helmet it so badly damage by fire then.

That's EU lore. The reason EU has never been canon, is so they can do this.

I noticed the ashes but I didn't remember to add that in here. I noticed the Tie Fighters echoing when they were going after Rey and Finn in the beginning of the movie. Were they going through an AT-AT?

Ah OK. I need to stay away from reading too much into the EU, it's getting ridiculous I tell ya.

I hope you did laugh out loud ;)

IIRC Vader dies on the Death star and may 'become one with the Force' as you may have expected and is generally accepted but Luke carries his dead body.

Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker...Luke's father, dies.

A huge explosion rocks the docking bay. Slowly, Luke rises and, half

carrying, half dragging the body of his father, stumbles toward a

shuttle.

Regardless of that though my point was that Plagueis' secret to eternal life was to enter the body of the one that killed him. He let Palpatine kill him in his sleep knowing he would enter Palpatines younger body and become more powerful.

When Vader drops Palpatine down the shaft he enters Vaders body as Vader slowly dies, this leaves Snoke as Plagueis in Vaders body when really he wanted Lukes. this is what he looks like now 30 years living in a rotting carcass waiting for a new strong Jedi/Siths body to use.

A bit far out even as theories go but a fun one nonetheless.

^ He's the ideal character who is and isn't cannon. He's the only new character mentioned out of the six films who's never been on the big screen. Something I realized today is that Plagueis is becoming more than viral on the Internet, everywhere you look fans are speculating that Snoke is him in disguise. However, I don't think Disney will go for that. What you think?

I am inclined to think it is him, I would prefer this than Disney just making up a new villain. If so I am not sure I would like it to be him pulling the strings from behind the scenes for the whole saga though. It could make a mockery of all the power struggles we have seen so far n the other movies.

Today I read that when JJ Abrams seen and read the new script for ep8, he felt saddened and regretting not being behind the director's chair for that one. He love it!

Now, could you imagine what ACTII will be like? Not only will they have to top the TFA but also in regards to ACTII like in ESB, it was filled with surprises and chaos. Characters galore were also introduced.

That's an interesting theory but how can he enter Palpatine's body when it already contained Palpatine's spirit? There's no way he could have possessed the poor bastard without him giving a proper fight and I don't think it's possible to do it like that anyway. And even if he did, during the time Vader threw Palpatine down the shaft, why would he then have decided to possess a dead man's body that was already crippled to the core when it was going to get burnt which would then kill him at the same time? The strongest theory in terms of his survival I think is that he never died in the first place, hence why you can see how old he really looks just in the hologram alone, and maybe his body is starting to decay because of how long he's been alive and went through some sh*t.

Late replay but I did watched it an loved it. It was a little too much 'New Hope' lite but had enough quality to survive that. Wish Harrison Ford was as good in Indiana Jones 4 like he was here. Only weak thing is that

Death Star 3.0 was distroyed way too easy.

Don't look to me for the answers, just passing on a theory I read that I don't believe but did find interesting.

Either way let me make some kind of ramshackle defence just for fun.

Palp's may have put up a fight, but lost. You might not think 'its possible to do it like that' but IMO Lucas made most things up as he went along (despite having a rough plot outline) so who is to what is and is not possible in a universe created in someone's imagination. IIRC in the EU the Emperor was cloned and I think his 'spirit' inhabited the clone. I know we are talking EU but similar things must have happened in the SW universe somewhere along the line.

He had no choice of what body to inhabit, he takes the body of the one who takes his life and that was Vader but he was hoping it would be Luke. Luke let him down by sparing Vaders life.

Its not a particularly strong theory but IMO interesting. Too many holes for it to be fleshed out but then again all 8 films are full of their own plot holes so what a few more added to the mix. ;)

You are right about Plagueis living Palp's assassination as being the strongest theory but IMO this is a pile of crap too. It makes a mockery of the films we grew up with if all the power struggles of Star Wars had actually been just a Punch and Judy show with Plagueis being the puppet master.

Also when Vader threw Palpatine down the shaft if he had any intention of cheating death, time was the essence and he had none when he blew up the way he did.

This is the fun thing about the films being the only canon thing in the SW universe, they are full of mistakes

IMO the whole becoming one with the Force thing is because they chose that dodgy way of killing Ben in Ep4. Actually chopping him in half would have changed it from a family film into a horror so they came up with vanishing with death thing for him.

BTW the outlandish theory I mentioned said the rush of air coming up from the shaft was Palps/Plagueis' spirit entering Vader. Internet theories, you just can't beat them for a chuckle. ;)

True. Here's that scene.

What I don't get is to why these "bloopers" are left in the final segment. Don't the editors, producers, and director(s) ect, ect - see what we see?
