Yeah that was well executed. My favorite scene is when Kylo stops the blaster beam in mid-air goes about his business then momments later the beam continues it's path - OMFG Kylo can stop time!

I loved that scene. It was wonderful.

^^ Obi-wan gives it to Luke in ANH when they board the Falcon to leave Tatooine. Then he loses it when he loses the hand.

Im interested to know how Maz ended up with it

True might be a reflection. In ANH it looks different or maybe it's just me. But still I'd also would like to know how it was recovered? Anakin had two, one was given to him and they other he made it himself. Now, it's still a mystery to me how the same lightsaber can change from blue to red or vice versa?

Anyone else kinda disappointed how there was no cool action scene with the guys from the Raid movies? Idk if they'll make another appearance in the sequels, but in TFA they didn't really get to do anything.

I've never seen Raid. What actors were in it?

I've never seen Raid. What actors were in it? They were the Asian guys who corners Han Solo and say he let them down twice. They get eaten real quick.

It was a cameo, they're actors, those guys don't have to kickass every movie.

Could be a color setting.

Different crystals. I assume they'd go to a specific planet where they know Lightsaber crystals are held, they probably look for the specific one and replace the one they have with the new one. Just searched it up and they're called red hued synthetic crystals.

Ok here comes another dumb question from me the wise lol. Everyone including myself believe Rey is a Skywalker, ok so wouldn't that bring the whole midi-clorians subject back up after all it's the same bloodline?

No. We never needed midiclorians before, to know that Luke was strong in the force because his father was.

Is this The Guy?

I'm pretty sure that everyone that has ever mentioned midichlorians have been killed.

In that case, I'm glad I never said midichlorians.

Synthetic would indicate made, not found, no?

Yes, hence the emphasis on Synthetic. Mainly, they're artifically made using the red colour by the sith, but it can be changed through the process. Luke used a synth-crystal for his green lightsaber in ROTJ because it's simply easier to use something that's artifically made than wait for a natural crystal to form. And I'm purely guessing that the Jedi in Episode 1, 2 and 3 used natural crystals because at that time, they had to go to a planet/planets to get the crystals from, since artifically it was unknown how to create them, which obviously changed in Episode 4 to 6.

Also, am I blind, or can you see a slight difference between his blue and green lightsaber? The green saber looks slightly thicker and very slightly less taller than the blue one. Doing some research, Luke's blue lightsaber (anakins), the crystal was natural from the adegan system, called the adegan crystal, that's why it's thinner. The green one was a standard synthetic, making it slightly thicker than others.

What does the scouter say about her midichlorian level?

I guess Luke has less than Vader.

http://starwarsuniverse2.tripod.com/id9.html

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader = 27,700
Darth Sidious/Palpatine (with Kyber Crystal) = 20,500
Yoda = 17,700
Luke Skywalker = 14,500

I read on Wookieepedia that the natural crystals were from the Adega system, Ilum and Dantooine. On Dantooine there was a so-called cave called, "Crystal Cave".

It's the same lightsaber from A New Hope. And what to do you mean it was given to Anakin? I always thought that every part of a Jedi's training required him to assemble his own lightsaber. Vader mentions this to Luke when he confiscates his green lightsaber on Endor. Also, Vader's red lightsaber is almost identical to the Anakin/Luke saber, except that it's reassembled with black accents:

The original Anakin/Luke lightsaber had some variations, but it's essentially the same thing:

I would like to correct my comment about Anakin's first lightsaber that information was inaccurate, so I stand and correct it.

Then their's this from TFA. Supposedly Vader's and Luke's now Rey's.

Luke's from ROTJ

I really like this version it has alot of detail. Ok so during the empire era, crystals for making sabers were banned or destroyed by the galactic emperor Palpatine. So Luke had to come up with his own unique version- hence the green lightsaber. These crystals were only available on one planet, precisely inside a cave.

Yup...

IIRC the EU is now regarded as legend and not canon. It can be drawn on for inspiration for future use but not used as fact.

Once again. The EU was never canon. The only canon was the movies, and possibly the CGI Clone Wars show.

I'm thinking that the new books and comics, and possibly Star Wars Rebels, is canon now, as well.

I explained this earlier in the thread but the EU was canon as acknowledged by Lucas Arts. The problem, and where the confusion arises, is there were two levels of canon. 1) Anakin's story; that is to say the movies only. Then 2) The movies + everything else in the EU.

You still had to get Lucas Arts' approval for something to be considered EU.

Funny you say that, because in the deleted scenes, Luke is assembling his new lightsaber in which so happens to be a cave. Only problem is that it's on Tatooine.

Scene is at 1:22

So, a clusterf*ck, one might say.

The film novelizations - are they canon? Are there any mentions of these light sabre crystals in them?

Clusterf*ck is definitely the word, lol.

As for mention of the crystals, not in the film novelizations. They were mentioned in the animated Clone Wars show though and that's canon under Disney (IIRC).

Lucasarts had nothing to do with deciding canon. They used EU inspired stories in their games, but they didn't decide the actual canon. The only person who was in charge of that was George Lucas himself, who made it very clear that the EU (books, comics, games, anything not the movies or Clobe Wars) was not the same canon as the movies. The EU might have had some form of continuity within itself, but it was never truly officially part of the movies' canon.

The EU was never canon.

The Clone Wars animated movie and TV series have never been in dispute as canon.

A lot of the rest is open for debate and will continue to be so, but it is irrelevant now as Disney has drawn a line under it all.

Yen is pretty much spot on IMO but 'Anakins story' includes the animated Clone Wars TV series and film.
