Dick Valor
I want it like San Andreas again. I hope we get it like that so i can time cutscenes perfectly and never have to go through the slow process of pulling the phone out. This Exactly, The Phone Was so sh*t! Checking the time on your phone in IV takes maybe one second. How is that slow? Kids these days.
K20
yeah i missed it. annoying to keep going back to the menu to see the time. arrrgghh
LTA1992
Prefer the phone. If you are going to have a mobile phone, use it for the clock too. Why should it be on the screen?
Mokrie Dela
I think it's better if they keep the time on the phone from here on out rather than on the HUD. Just my opinion, though. Pretty much this. By all means have the option to have the "old" hud or the "new" one - please everyone. I want the time, however, to be longer, for day to be long enough to enjoy it - longer than RDR imo, and same with night. What's the ratio? III era was 1 min=1 sec, IV 1 min = sec, RDR 1 min = 4 sec? I'd like it stretched a bit more. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Click here to view my Poetry
AuSsIeThUnDeR36
Well just make it an option to have it onscreen as part of the HUD. There should be HUD Options as such displayed in the menu - Weapon Ammo - On/Off Mini Map - On/Off Wanted Stars - On/Off Cash Amount - On/Off Time Display - On/Off This should satisfy everyone. Don't want the time displayed? Just select Off from the HUD Display menu.
H.I.M.
I missed the clock a lot too. Maybe they should return it back like San Andreas sty;e on the top right. But other than that the IV-era HUD looked pretty rad. Especially, the Lost and Damned one.
Graven
What would be cool You' d get a wrist clock close-view by holding the same button that' s used to take phone.
Deffpony
The less items on screen the better. Being able to pull up the time on your cell or in the pause menu is sufficient. No need to add junk to the screen that you will use a total of .05% of the game.
GarrowsKai
I'd welcome the return of a small clock on screen, it could easily be slightly transparent to keep it unobtrusive and it's wouldn't be hard to make it optional whether it is displayed or not to keep everyone happy. I'd like it stretched a bit more. I'd like it to be stretched more as well, I think the larger the maps gets the longer time needs to be stretched. 1 min=10 secs could be good, that works out as 1 hours to every 10 mins. However I think with that we should have the option to control how much time is skipped when saving. Rather than the default 6 hours we should be able to choose any amount of time from 3 hours to 12 hours, especially when you have to be at a specific place at a specific time for certain missions. Possibly have lower health regeneration/smaller reduction in police attention when choosing a smaller number of hours. Please do not double post. rsgtafan
The clock in the phone never bothered me. I used it only to check when it was the time to rob a Laundromat.
Elothel
I think the clock on the phone was not annoying at all and what is more it was very realistic. I kinda developed the habit of checking it every sec just like in RL.
bowling...?
What do you mean? The clock in the mobile phone was too hidden? I'll agree on that. I barely used the clock in IV, but in Vice City/San Andreas I would always rely on the clock because it was right there and easy enough to just look at it instead of in IV having to duck for cover in the middle of a fight, stand still and hope the police don't catch me, then press Down arrow, look for the tiny little pixelated clock on my pixelated mobile phone, then by the time I pull it away the screen goes black and white and I've been shot. There was a clock in the pause menu.
Honest Bill
I can't say i really noticed. I think the phone is pretty convenient as it is.
98 in 1
If R* does go the way of micro-transactions (which I highly doubt), they could have it so you could buy HUD's from previous GTA's for a dollar each. GTA III GTA VC GTA SA etc... OT: I prefer the phone. GTA IV's minimalistic HUD was spot on imo, and the time on the phone wasn't hard to see at all (for me at least). Having the HUD on all the time does break the immersion somewhat for me as well.
