Dick Valor Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 So, we all know a full 18 hole golf course and mini-game is going to be featured in GTA V. However, we don't know to what extent we will be able to use golf equipment outside of said mini-game. In VC, we were able to use the golf club as a melee weapon, so hopefully we can count on this returning in V. But what if we were able to keep golf balls and tees in our inventories as well? Suppose you could set up and chip a golf ball wherever and whenever you pleased? You could chip balls into downtown traffic, or from the highest peak of Mt. Chiliad. Or perhaps you could tie people up and chip balls at them for your own twisted amusement? Seems like there would be so many opportunities for both mischief and relaxed roleplay if we could simply golf wherever we wanted! Would anyone else love this feature? Fail_At_GTA Posted January 19, 2013 Share Posted January 19, 2013 I can see golf being one of the gamemodes in online play, along with tennis but I have doubts you can hit golf balls into traffic whenever and wherever you please, although it does seem like a fun thing but sounds too Saint's Row-ish to me. "Saints Row-ish" may be a bit harsh. Sure, there are obviously mischievous applications for such a feature, but you could also enjoy more Sims-ish pastimes, like chipping balls into the Alamo Sea. GTA is still a free roam game that should allow the player to express themselves, even if it is not to the same ridiculous extent as Saints Row. I don't think golf balls are as out of left field as giant purple dildos... and we need a better selection of non-lethal weapons/inventory items anyway. It doesn't seem like this feature would require much development time either as it would essentially be identical to the driving range mechanic from TBOGT, but anywhere you wanted (or at least any flat surface). I want to come barreling along in a near wrecked truck, carving up the 9th hole & sending grey haired old fuddy duddys running for their lives. Or recreating the scene from the movie 'Falling Down'. After finishing the main GTAV storyline, I'm going to practice golf as Trevor for weeks of replay, until I get him down to a 9 hanidcap, and then I'm going go into GTAV multiplayer golf and make big bucks on golf bets.
