Michael is in Witness Protection, and this usually results in the witness living under a new name and identity. So assuming this has happened in GTAV, could it be that Michael has a completely different name? It's still undoubtedly very interesting, though. It just highlights how much Michael's background is showing to be one of, if not THE most interesting I have seen in a GTA Protagonist. One could also say that originally, his new name was "Albert" - but that they changed that name, and all the other names, that was listed on the casting call after it was leaked. Another possibility is also that they were just placeholder names used to recruit actors (in the event it leaks out, as it did) and were never in-game names. Various possibilities. Dick Valor Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Considering Trevor and at least his wife knew him before he entered the witness protection program, I doubt Michael isn't his real name. It would be weird if he introduced himself as Michael to Franklin, but Trevor and his wife call him Albert. If anything, Michael is his real name, but we will also have a witness protection alias that he and his family probably detest (perhaps Albert de Silva?).
