OysterBarron
Seriously though, horses are beautiful animals Beautiful and delicious. Quite. Got no idea why there's such a resistance to eating horse in the UK, it tastes fantastic. Horse meat used to be the norm back in the day before beef chicken and pork took off big time. It's just that people dont eat it alot anymore.

ryuclan
Quite. Got no idea why there's such a resistance to eating horse in the UK. Horse usage in war, horse usage by the police, a tradition of horse riding as a recreational activity. As I said, horses are on the same footing as dogs in the minds of many people. Honestly I would have no problem trying horse meat as long as it wasn't killed just to be eaten. If the horse died and they wanted to honor his legacy by making patties out of him send one my way. In my opinion though the common cow/steer/cattle/whatever has done more for us than any horse has over the centuries. Also we're up in arms about horse meat? Horse meat? What about all the other non meat, non animal things that used to get put in our meat (America) and still do. Moth
In the near future, we may have synthetic meat. Imagine a world in which you can eat all the meat you want, but do so safe in the knowledge that no innocent beast died for your appetite. I think it's a real possibility. We already have synthetic meat? Soy products that mimic the taste and texture of meat, albeit with a less appealing taste due to the lack of meat's typically outrageous fat content. It's not the same thing. Stop trying to get people to turn into your evil vegan ways! He wants meat that is real meat, just grown inside of a test tube. And I can not wait as well, cloning meat. Voodoo
Funnily enough, I've heard that pigs are one of the fifth most intelligent creatures on the planet. Unfortunately for pigs, their palatability trumps their relative intelligence. Also, bacon.

Plus, I've seen a horse hurt itself, that alone is enough to put me off eating horsemeat for life, that and I work with the creatures.
