JohnMonroe85
Well, I was watching the old IV-trailers and I noticed that the impression I got from the trailers was a whole lot different than when I was actually playing the game. Because of editing and not knowing the backstory. Now I was thinking about the scene where Michael introduces Trevor and Franklin... What if we misinterpreted that? That Michael was being more sarcastic... "This is Trevor my best friend:" This is the easy one. Michael and Trevor had a falling out in the past. This is a fact. Why I do not know. Maybe the popular theory that Mike betrayed Trev for that "sweet deal with FIB. Or just a heist gone wrong... "This is Franklin, the son I always wanted": Because Michael's own son Jimmy has the "richboygangsta-thing" going on wich Michael hates. Could it be that Franklins mannerisms reminds him of Jimmy? Just imagine: Mike seeing Franks potential, decides he'll teach Franklin his ways. That Mike at a given moment get's back in the game and tells Frank: "We can't do this alone, I want you to meet someone (Trevor)" to wich Franklin replies: "Allright, you're the boss, man. Let's bounce!" I was thinking what your view on the whole introductionscene is...
Matty
Come to think of it, that whole introduction scene towards the end of the second trailer does have a somewhat sarcastic overtone to it. It is quite easy to see this in in Michael's body language when he is doing the introduction - he is literally walking past Trevor and Franklin, and looking away from them, as he is doing the whole introduction - then looking back towards the pair as they are shaking hands. Whether the body language that Michael displays towards the others is a result of any other circumstance remains to be seen, but looking at it as it is - he doesn't seem all that pleased. The scenes that follow this are clearly edited in, but after the helicopter is destroyed by the jet, the three protagonists are shown together to be showing disappointment in the whole situation. This shows that regardless of any uneasiness between Michael and the others, they are more than willing to work together and it also shows that all they have a common goal. As for Trevor betraying Michael, I somehow don't think that this is the case. Both worked jobs together a long while prior to the events of GTA V's storyline - and it is likely because Michael felt that he had earned enough money from a life of crime to now get out of crime and try to live a legitimate life and have a family; this could of resulted in a falling out between Trevor and Michael before they went their separate ways or it could of been a gradual process; with Michael doing less and less in the criminal world before eventually stopping completely. Either way, I don't think that betrayal had anything to do with it IMO. Edited January 18, 2013 by DTUMan
Deffpony
This is a good point. Maybe Trevor and Michael are still possed at eachother but a common goal has brought them together. Maybe Franklin is repossessing Michaels boat in trailer two and Michael has a bitter admiration for the guy who gets the best of him.
I Shot The Sheriff
With Trevor I see it happening, but not with Franklin, as he's really a smart guy.

Bonfy
I'm gonna copy paste what I posted in another thread, changing a few words: He's probably sarcastic. I can imagine the whole cutscene. The 3 guys meet near the heli. It's the first time Trevor and Franklin see each other. Michael says something like: "Ok, let's go." and one of the other two asks: "What, you don't even introduce ourselves?" So Michael introduce them the sarcastic way: "This is Trevor, my best friend, and this is Franklin, the son I always wanted." Trevor isn't his best friend, and Franklin isn't the son he always wanted. He was just being sarcastic.

BUT THE BENZ
I totally thought Trevor is REALLY Michael's best friend, and that MIchael REALLY wanted to always have a black son
TwistedMedia
I think Michael is just unhappy about the whole situation, he is obviously being put in a position by the FIB where he cannot say no to doing what they ask (as he is in protection) and I'm guessing that they told him he will need a third man who can fly a helicopter, at which point he reluctantly calls Trevor. I think it's going to be interesting hearing the conversations on the way to and from missions between the three, kinda like in TBOGT with Luis, Armando and Henrique
