When GTA IV was released, several gaming sites made test confirming Xbox 360 edges PS3 a little bit with respect to graphics rendering, anti-aliasing and shadow overlays. While this may seem trivial, other players do take this matter seriously. Since GTA V would probably squeeze all the remaining juice from the two aging consoles, it’s normal for some fans to worry what if Playstation 3 fails this time considering it already faced minor issues running the previous game.

 

 

Will PS3 suffer from the same lack of resolution, shadows and AA? Or will the 360 be the best platform again?

we can't possibly know that, but delevoping the game is much easier on xbox, im sure there wont be noticable difference

I think it will be about the same, depends on which one has the best specs smile.gif "GTA V is pushing both consoles to the max" or something like that i've read.

Lets hope each platform version is being made separately and that PS3 isnt getting another xbox port.

That's a pretty neat way to make the Moderators think you're on neither side with that sig and avatar, I must say.

 

OT: Both consoles will run the game at around 30FPS, it's standard for most console games around. Recently I got NFS Pro Street just for fun on PC, played around a bit and updated it to 1.1, BAM, constant 30FPS which is a nightmare on racing games.

its capped at 30fps, which is retarded because current gen games are childs play for a modern PC

The screens provided by north have been all on PS3, but it should be just as good on 360.

but we dont know if the 360 will run at a higher res, which it usually does with multi platform games

This hasn't been confirmed. Stop speculating. The Demo was on a PS3 however the origins of the screens are unconfirmed.

Who cares? It'll do good enough.

 

I already know where this is going. Fans of all 3 platforms will call each other peasants and people will go to great lengths to shame me for not having enough money for the PS3 or a decent gaming PC. It always goes down like that.

Rockstar have mastered the PS3 by now, it could turn out better than on the 360. But who knows?

True, but it's only capped on consoles. Pro Street was a one of a kind where EA made a dick move instead of actually fixing the issues that were in the game.

I think R* confirmed that each version is being developed at the same time. It should end up like Max Payne 3 where there's 720P for each console and few if any differences in quality at all.

It better not be laggy or muddy on ps3 like gta iv

i wasnt aware of any issues on PS3? im still playing it today and to state its laggy and muddy is bullsh*t!!!! yeah the occasional buildings pop up happens(on both consoles) which has always been the case with ALL gta,s due to its fast rendering status. apart from that i thought it was graphically amazing(for the time) i personally thought the lighting etc was really well done.

 

To the original point, houser has already stated that "theres plenty of power in these machines" so i dont see any issues with any of the versions and dont expect a skyrim scenrio. rockstar have never done this. And on that basis i feel ur trying to flame by trying to edge the xbox version?

 

The differences(if any) would be neglegent and therefore POINTLESS to even suggest them

I'm sure some are going to bitch about it, but that would be like 0.05% of GTA players. Honestly, the difference between the two consoles in terms of running games is almost non-existent.

I think that both consoles will be just fine in terms of performance. I am there are a lot of talented people working on making the game run the best it can. I am not one to drive around and look at a tree in the forest, or highway, I'd rather focus on the gameplay of the world.

yeah i know, that sucks, but look at how good all the first party games on PS3 look, Uncharted,Killzone , & the upcoming The Last Of Us, just all the third party games look & play better on X360.

I've pointed this out before, but Rockstar said that they were developing GTA V side-by-side for both consoles. That way each game will be able to take full advantage of the hardware.

 

And if you ask me for a link, I will go ahead and tell you now that I don't have one. But I think I read that in the GI article. If it wasn't there, it was probably at IGN.com

I agree alot with Houser. The best games come at the end of the consoles lifespan. San Andreas pushed the hell out of the Ps2.

good sign for PS3 users is that the GTA:V Demo was running on PS3, devs usally show games on the most stable, better looking console, my opinion is that they are in the middle of getting the X360 version down to 3 discs, remember LA Noire, that was on 5-6 X360 disc before they managed to cut it down to 3 for release.

Console wars are pointless bullsh*t. GTA 4 was fine on both the Xbox ans PS3, although people complained it was dark on the PS3, which is fixable by adjusting the brightness. Durr...

 

Anyway, GTA 5 is being made on both Xbox and PS3 at the same time. They will be equal. Now the PS3/Xbox fanboys and PC elitiest kids can stop complaining and comparing the game.
