Waingro
Going off the GTA V artwork (http://www.rockstargames.com/downloads#/?collection=3&series=5481) with the burning van behind all three, do you think it's possible that players will need to think about destroying evidence in order to completely escape during game missions? What I don't mean is going on a random rampage and then worrying if Trevor left finger prints. BUT- for scripted missions, since Rockstar has said planning is part of the mission structure for these big heists, what if Michael/Trevor/Franklin have to set up getaway vehicles and torch, say, a van they used for the actual heist etc. If you've seen HEAT you know what I'm talking about. Deffpony
Yea it will probably be a part of the scripted missions where it will say "pick up the gas can and torch the van"
Waingro
Eh, guess I was hoping for more. Trevor steals a helicopter and hides it in a hangar. Franklin and Michael rob Store X, then Michael drives to some seedy area under a highway, Franklin tosses C4 into the cab and detonates. Switch to Trevor who flies in to pick the other two up just as police are closing in. I don't know. Something cool and multi-layered like that would be pretty cinematic. Good idea. Rather than just confining evidence discovery and wanted levels to single missions or getaway episodes, if there is a long-term wanted-level mechanism like in RDR, then discovered evidence from earlier crimes could conceivably be a factor in having cops more often spontaneously find you and chase you (even when you haven't tapped a cop car ). Then in the spirit of open-scripted games, and in context of the prominence of CSI shows on TV and cable every night of the week, it would be cool if we could discover for ourselves that leaving evidence around can cause police to discover and harrass us more often during regular free-roam time in the game, so that we realize when we need to destroy evidence. That would be more fun than simply a scripted, "now torch the van" command isolated in an occasional mission. Related to the idea of erasing evidence to keep GTAV cops from coming after you, when they see you (or get 911 calls from peds who recognize you from your sketch on the news), I hope that GTAV has the RDR "kill the eyewinesses" mechanism. That was a blast, chasing down the eyewitnesses. And it would be more like real life -- once your face has been seen, it's hard to stay out of the police database. Then what, cops have dirt on us and bring us in for interrogation once they have a bunch of evidence? Its just not practical. If I have no "wanted level" stars I dont want to be contantly harrassed by cops when I'm just minding my own business in between missions. Imagine what a PITA that would be... Waingro
But that's already in existence in RDR! I think R* can figure out a way of making it useful, fun, and integral to the story.
