TenEightyOne
Again, please excuse the crappy vocal/piano mix, I really will get around to doing a proper mix one day. This is one of those songs that come out in ten minutes after too many beers, it's about my birth mother. That might seem a pretty strong subject, it's something I struggled with as I grew up but as I got older and was able to find more out I realise that I might have actually been incredibly lucky. 'Nuff said It's personal but I really like playing it - and as always I'd really welcome your feedback! No Damn Good Listen on SoundCloud Must have been a year ago when I wrote these lines. Guess I wanted you to know I rang a thousand times Tryin' to find you... But nobody had you there. I had to say I'm sorry; "Guess I must have found this number somewhere". But you were gone Just like... Me I always hide away and try to tell a joke, I guess I want them all to see me laugh instead of choke. I feel it coming But nobody has me there. I've got to say I'm sorry 'cos I never give an answer nowhere. I wish I was gone now - just like you. Did you dream about the money - Did you always keep on running nowhere? I see you in the city with the lights on your tears Like a river of silver blood. Did you dream about your lover? Did you really see him coming back for you? Did the city take your life just like your momma always tried to warn you it could - Tried to tell you it would - But you know you never listen 'Cos you're no damn good. Must have been a life ago when I left that boy. I guess he never really grew out of his broken toys And sideways smiles. Should never have had a care... But I've got to say I'm sorry 'cos it's something that's been too much to bear. I wish I was gone now just like you. Did you cry about the money - Did you always keep on running nowhere? I see you in the city with the lights on your tears Like a river of silver blood. Did you cry about your lover? Did you really see him coming back for you? Did the city take your life just like your momma always tried to warn you it could - Tried to tell you it would - But you know you never listen 'Cos you're no damn good. Mokrie Dela
you know what man, one day I'm going to make a bassline for these! haha I like this one. I like the piano line. Lyrics are good. I should record my stuff, but i lack the equipment. Good work. The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. The Notorious MOB
You're pretty good man. Kinda reminds me of Hugh Grant in the film "Music and Lyrics" .. don't worry that's a compliment. Also sensing a bit of Michael Stipe in your voice One thing though, the link you posted doesn't actually link to the song.. I had to search for it on Soundcloud. Try pasting this url into the link instead: https://soundcloud.com/mikecooling/no-damn-good
