dying in gtaV

Remember the death screen in the last installment? How it went black and white and you can control the camera? Except it was a little difficult to focus. What would you guys prefer? An updated version of what was in IV? Or something new? If youd prefer something new, id like to hear some cool ideas you have to make it better.

I'd like it to stay the same, but I didn't like how the cops kept unloading their clips on my ass. tounge.gif

I'd like to see something newer. for example, the camera should have a radial blur from the outside towards the centre instead of it turning grayscale.

Imagine the below, but with the camera pointing at the protag's corpse and slowly zooming out like the III era "wasted" camera

Example

I feel that this would better capture the bright environment of Los Santos.

I think the black and white is more of a gritty Liberty City thing.

Something new, that will capture a sense of death but look cool at the same time. Maybe a little kill cam showing how you were killed or something.

Agreed in saying that the GTA IV black and white, slow motion death screen was pretty much spot on and I think that the same thing will happen when you die in GTA V. Either that, or something similar to the death screen in Red Dead Redemption. In other words, when you die in GTA V, instead of an elaborate zoom out before the screen gradually fades to black - the screen instead almost instantly blacks out (with some sort of a visual effect of course) with the words "Wasted" appearing in the middle-center of the screen for a few seconds; followed by a gradual fade-in when you re-spawn at the nearest hospital.

I could only imagine the death screen in GTA V being one or the other IMO.

Something new. How about, when you die everthing stays the same, no slow motion, no black n white. Then, once you're dead it clicks, and replays the last 5 seconds prior to your death with the slow motion and all the effects like IV had. Yes? No? Maybe so?

Had a near death experience and it looked almost like that. Not cool looking back. Guess it's one way to avoid myself from dying in the game, but I seriously wouldn't want that feature if it's gonna traumatize me.

I don't want the slow motion black and white thing.

I want Far Cry's death.

i dont think that would work with GTA, its not a FPS.

I loved watching and hearing the hilarious comments peds and cops made, and still getting shot after clearly being dead is perfect GTA. They could update it by making it last a bit longer and adding more interesting stuff like having random peds looting your dead corpse or if you land on the street you could see vehicles run over you while people scream. At any point you should be able to skip the death scenes by pressing a button.

I think either an updated version of IVs or something new like showing it from the protags perspective with the screen slowing Turning from colour to black and white until it all goes black or white or something like that. Maybe we could even have individual death scenes for each of the protags.

I want to press a button to respawn instead of having it do it automatically. This way if you've set up a huge chain reaction or died really high in the air and want to see the fall, you can. Just press the button when you want the hospital to do it's thing.

One thing I didn't like is dying while say falling and not getting to see the full effects of the euphoria engine on my poor corpse. I'd really like to just be able to do what we did in V with the option to make it faster/slower and not skip itself

This is a little different but may work?

When you get killed by someone else, I think it would be cool to maybe switch the camera to your killers POV. So say a cop gets the final killing shot on you, switch the camera to a 3rd person view of him firing the gun and watching it kill you. Slow motion, screen fades to grey and black. So it's like a killcam for NPC's. I don't know?

Obviously if you die from any other reason, falls, car crashes etc. I think GTA IV's death sequence was pretty good. Except when the creen fades to black, bring in the WASTED!

They can have whatever screen, animation or camera effect they like so long as I'm allowed to escape out of it.

I just want to get back to the game. I don't want to be forced to endure their wasted sequence every time.

How about, when you die, the game zooms out to the map and ooms into the nearest other protagonist, and then you get a text message saying "Trevor is in the Hospital again, he'll be out in an hour".

This. Other that that, IV's was right on the money. For old times sake though they could have Wasted popping up on the screen toggle-able in the settings for those who like it like that.
