Windows 8 Crash

Hi!

I've been playing the Steam version of GTA: San Andreas for about a year. I recently upgraded to Windows 8 (from 7), and I can launch and run the game without a problem. However, when an explosion occurs, the game crashes. I am launching the game using my main monitor's native resolution, 1366x768. I have attempted avoiding the crash by using lower resolutions down to 640x480, but nothing changes. I've also tried using Windows Compatibility Mode, but when I do so, Steam fails to launch the game.

 

Specs:

Intel i5

8GB RAM

1TB HDD

Intel HD Graphics 2500

 

This is my first post; any help is much appreciated.
