saintsrow Posted January 17, 2013 Share Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) Well, big dish antennas are not always used for SETI - could be radio astronomy or a ground station for weather satellites or Dish TV uplink. But it could be that Rockstar wants to follow up from their theme in GTA-SA where the "Big Ear" might have been associated with the Area 69 theme, but it seems they did not take the time to connect it in the storyline. Maybe they want to do it right this time. Actually, I thought that in GTA-SA they might have had bigger plans for the alien theme, but just did not have time to flesh it out or couldn't make it fit in the story. The whole Area 69 had a nice creepy desert vibe to it which was a masterful thing to achieve in III era video game technology, but after finally getting inside and just finding a jetpack, I thought, "What is this sh*t? I fought my way through Area 69 and 4 or 5 stars, and all I got was this lousy jetpack!"" I was pretty disappointed -- I expected a big revelation after all that.
