As others have said, it is still quite early for Rockstar, yes even though it comes out in Spring they are always tight lipped. Though another major reason. It would be in the worst interest to hype it up right now, due to the recent Mass Shooting a the Sandy Hook school. The gaming industry has crosshairs over it, and with all the debates over game violence, and gun debates in the US right now, I think it would be a terrible idea for them to start mass marketing, and I believe they realize that. It's not only rockstar, but you really don't see much marketing for any games right now. Rockstar has always been in the crosshairs for Grand Theft Auto, but it would just be that much worse to advertise of the hell out of GTAV in the wake of one of those worse school shooting in the States. Just a thought, as i'm seeing plenty of threads about people worrying about possible delays, as they aren't advertising much. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They don't need to join in on all the crap debates going on about violence in games, and gun control. They just need to give it just a little time to calm down. The shooting was only a month ago. What they need to do, though, is get it 'out there'. Like, put a huge poster on the Figueroa Hotel, get stuff on billboards. I think we can expect a full website release and a release date before the end of February, though, assuming everything is in fact going smoothly. They once hired a journalist to purposely create controversy over I think it was GTA 1 when it launched. By politicians criticizing the game that - hardly anyone knew existed - it became a hit and now today we can safely say that even if Rockstar said the release date was next friday, it would affect sales by the least in comparison to any other gaming company doing the same thing. A video game is art, just like movies. Its not their fault that parents don't take responsibility for their own children. There's no war on video-games, people keep saying that to make it seem like a problem. The game has a rating on it and there are laws preventing clerks from selling such video games to minors. I walked into a damn EB games wearing a pea coat and some chinos, Im 18, this guy still asks me for ID. Kids are safe from violent video games as long as their parents dont buy it for them and even if they obtain it another way, its the parents home they should have control over it.
