What Will Be Minimum & Recommended Spec For GTA 5?

Hi,

I don't have XBOX 360 or PS3

Last time i upgraded my PC was in 2008 only for GTA 4...so now as GTA 5 is releasing soon, i am on verge of upgrading my PC again..

MY CURRENT PC SPECS

Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8 Ghz

3 GB RAM DDR2

Geforce 9400 GT

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit

I am thinking of upgrading this config. to following

Core i5 3570K (Ivy bridge, 3rd gen) @ 3.8 Ghz

8 GB RAM DDR3

GeForce GTX 650

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

What do you all say? New config will be able to run GTA 5 @ medium Settings ?

We really wouldn't have any specific idea but... if your current specs can run GTA IV fine, then your new specs should be able to run GTA V fine. Now, hopefully GTA V's PC version is better optimized, as well.

i am not sure why you provided link to that thread...

1) If you provided it because all PC related discussions should be in that thread - i am sorry. I am new here and was not sure where to post this.

2) If you provided it to make the point that "rockstar" may not release the PC version - i know that. I am still hopeful that they will release PC version after 4-5 months of XBOX/PS3 version.

It's honestly very hard to say. It really comes down to how well they optimise it. Will that computer run it? Yes, it most likely will. But we really can't get how well it will run it.

I think he meant that you should have posted it in that thread.

If GTA:V is your sole reason for upgrading, I'd wait until closer to the time because a) you will KNOW the specs (once they are announced) and b) newer and better hardware will be available.

Wait until it's actually close to PC's release or it has been confirmed by Rockstar. Otherwise you might in a worst case scenario end up without GTA V at all and a upgraded PC for nothing.

Hi I know this is marginally off topic but I want to buy a laptop with a minimum spec of

2.0 GHz dual core CPU, sound card,4 GB RAM, built-in USB 2.0 port but im sh*t at computers and it makes no sense to me could any of you guide me in the right direction

That processor runs at 3.4Ghz, it goes to 3.8Ghz in turbo boost.

I am going to buy that exact same processor, along with an 2Gb DDR5 AMD Radeon 7850 HD graphics card, tho only 4 Gbs of RAM. (If the game seems to need more I'll buy 4 more)

The rig will certainly run the game. That processor is the best gaming processor you can find at the moment, as far as I know. Yea there are the i7's and the eight core processors from AMD, but performance will just not increase over what the i5-3570k can achieve.

Lets just hope the game will be well optimized. If so, it will run perfectly.

EDIT: @Coolstream For nothing? What the hell. There are other games. If GTA V won't see a release on PC, (very unlikely) he has a really good gaming PC for... well, only all the games out there.

OP. Just splash out on a $5K PC. You will be guaranteed to be able to play GTA V

As I said with my previous post... There is a limit.

Sure, get the $1300 Intel CoreTM i7-980, or whatever it's price is, but you will NOT get a higher performance than using the i5-3570k. Lets say you do, a 10% (maximum), but OC the i5 and there you have it...

Then sure, he can get a more expensive GPU, lets say the 690 GTX, over the lets say AMD 7870, but he WON'T get a better performance unless playing at ridiculously high resolutions (multiple screens), or playing several games at once on diferent screens.

Today's components are incredibly powerful, so games, which have been held back for such a long time in terms of graphics because of the long console cycle, simply cannot burn all the power that those components have.

Paying $100k on a PC wouldn't give you better FPS than on a $3k PC.
