NaidRaida
Getting stuck during the loading screen is normally a sign that your hardware isn't poweful enough and your computer has no more resources left. If you really want to use Icenhancer you should at first try to lower your settings and have a look if the game still crashes or stop loading. gdog1114
thanks for the answer but what has me scratching my head is that when watching tutorials of other people doing it they had less resources than i did. like 1400mb to my 1900mb, when running the game normally. then they switch to icenhancer theyres stays the exact same while mine dropped from 1994 to
NaidRaida
This game is badly programmed from the very first point. It has been made for consoles, not for computers. It may be possible that you get worse results even with better hardware than somebody else. Look, I was using a GTX460 1GB. Game was running flawlessly plus ENB. I switched to HD7850 2GB. Obviously a more powerful card and double VRAM! The result? I cannot play IV anymore because of an incredible lag and stuttering. Rest of the system remains unchanged! You get the point? Fact is, there a people using a GTX680, a monster card, and it simply doesn't run! I could run ENB/Icenhancer without major trouble, I only got stuck during the loading screens when I enabled downsampling via ENB postprocessing (this doubles or triples your resolution!). This was obviously too much for a 1 GB card. The 2 GB card cannot handle the game without mods! Sounds stupid but is an evidence for a bad programmed game. Sometimes I think this is the only logic reason when it comes too bad performance results and GTA IV. Keep in mind that IV is generally very CPU demanding too. All the sh*t I just said doesn't help you. I can only repeat what I said before: Getting stuck during the loading screen was a sign for too high ENB/Icenhancer settings. In my case it was caused by enabled 'downsampling' which is really a very demanding effect. Maybe it's not the mod itself causing your hang but some settings inside the mod. I mean too high quality settings. Edited January 17, 2013 by NaidRaida
