I can see all these new things in the news becoming a huge parody in GTA V. I'm looking so forward to all the parodies on American things in this game, it's one of the many reasons why i love Rockstar Games, haha.

Now that I think about it, I think if Obama canceled GTAV the gun control and terrorism would be the last thing he had to be worried about. lol.gif

lol.gif hahahahaha you got that right

Don't worry about the politics. Regarding games, Obama did nothing but order up more research from the Centers for Disease Control. It's also worth pointing out that Biden's meeting with video game industry people was scheduled on a Friday, the day news goes to die. To me, this says Obama knows video games have jack squat to do with real violence and he's only giving it the bare minimum of attention to be able to say he didn't ignore it. He's not going to waste any real time or political capital on it.

As for Rockstar, the selling point of GTA is the open world experience. The two trailers show guns but they're almost lost in the scenes of the game world. I actually went through all the released screenshots to be able to say that only 11 out of 75 show someone with a gun in hand (and some of those are police). Rockstar can easily advertise what a spectacular game GTAV is while hardly showing any gun violence in the ads at all.

What is worrisome to me is that people think the cover art is gonna release tommorow.

Wow MosquitoSmasher, I don't think I have ever seen you this worked up bro. I sympathize with you though man. Video games are scapegoated by the government and media all the damn time. Its really sad man.

As for me being worried, I am not as of right now. If the beginning of April rolls around and there is no release date revealed, then I'd be slightly worried. Being that this is a new GTA game, I do not think they would need 3 months of marketing just so it could sell well. They can market the game for about a month and a half before release it will do well. I wouldn't worry too much man.

You won't be worried until April without a release date? If there is no date by the end of February then it's panic time and especially by March. But April? Wtf?

There could be an internal delay, let's say they are aiming for April, it's possible that it will get delayed to May...but we won't know about it. But it's also possible they announce it public for April and still delay it to May, like what happened to Max Payne 3. Any other delay means late 2013 and i don't see that happening.

It's likely they planned to release the game late 2012, and was delayed to Spring 2013. So it could already have been delayed and we won't know.

It's good that they hold back with information (yet). Ubisoft did this mistake by revealing too much about Assassins Creed 3. I mean, rendered CGI-Trailer, many gameplay videos, story plots (altough they didn't reveal anything much) and the marketing of different editions/DLC. I was very hyped after all that, but after finally playing the game, I was kinda disappointed.

I really prefer less information as possible in order to gain more experience, fun, etc when playing for myself. Even GTA IV couldn't statisfy all my expectations after the previews, etc.

While I have very high expectations for GTA V, I want to know as less as possible about it so that I won't be dissappointed when the announced features won't be as "exciting" in the final game or something.

I agree with this. The more information that is revealed relating to a game, the more assumptions that are made by video game publications and fans alike with regards to what will be in the game. IMO even with the one GTA V preview (taking into account that multiple publications were shown the same preview) people were/are beginning to make assumptions as to what will be in GTA V; and many of the people making these assumptions are the ones were disappointed with GTA IV and will no doubt be disappointed when GTA V is released too when they find out that some things weren't as they actually seemed.

I really wouldn't mind if any further details aren't revealed about GTA V from now up until its release (except a release date, multiplayer details and maybe a map closer to release; as was the case with GTA IV); if Rockstar just reveal a few screenshots and artwork here and there, that is all that should be needed in terms of publicity and the lack of any specific details, for me, would only add to the surprise when I actually play it and I'd be ever more impressed with the final product IMO then I would be if I already knew a lot of the details.

Speaking of Max, the co-op DLC still have to release. Probably gonna get announced tomorrow.

Wtf? How could you be wrong about this? Shame on you. tounge.gif

To be fair... the announcement did indeed happen on Thursday in my time zone... tounge.gif.

Lucky guess. sly.gif

Let's just wait until February. If there's no date announced mid-way through February, then yes I will be a little worried.

Personally I have faith that the release date will be announced with the box art this month.

Also, the reason those games you mentioned revealed so much info was because people were unfamiliar with those games. And GTA IV was a huge change, as it was HD with a new engine. GTAV, I think R* are trying to spread it via word of mouth.

I think you're right, marketing is very expensive, I think R* are taking advantage of having their own website to spread the word and save money on marketing.

Oh come on don't take it for a consideration that R* will fail us. GTA IV is a new kind of game in the HD universe and it did get a lot of coverage because it's a new kind of game that people never seen before.

I have to agree on both gionascm2 and finn4life, marketing is quite expensive when you compare it through advertisements on TV and billboards. For now then, I think they are saving money and energy because remember, they've spend enough marketing on their latest game release which is MP3 of course and are still trying to gain.

I have faith that they will keep their promise, just keep on waiting.

I just watched a video....it's an IGN video, i'm not too keen on IGN, but this is an alright video.

They discuss the recent Splinter Cell Blacklist delay from Spring to August in there and how it probably gives a timing for the next-gen consoles. Ubi is not stupid enough to release a big dog like Splinter Cell very close to a new console launch, so this probably means October or even later for the next-gen launch....which is what i was expecting anyway.

But i highly doubt Rockstar wants to release their behemoth around that time. So no delay...unless something severely goes wrong.

This video btw

I guessed may 7th, but when I checked back in the first trailer I changed to may 24th. You know with those 3 hints.

For sale may 24th. We aim not to lose it.

Thanks for that man, i apreciate it. I also apreciate that Rockstar simply confirmed it again, maybe i'm the only one..but it's good to read that. They could have said...relax, this is about Max Payne 3. Take GTA related things to the appropriate articles. But they didn't..good.
