Sure that's still a few months away from now, but aside from the cover story and the few previews, we know so very little. Don't get me wrong, personally i prefer that, not knowing a whole lot about this game, i much prefer having to find it out all by myself while exploring. But i do remember that GTA IV and pretty much any Rockstar game that released after that received a sh*tload of coverage. Take for example radio stations and the songs that will be on it...except for Radar Love and the Nightride FM station we don't know much else. Then again....it was March in 2008 when they revealed them for GTA IV at the time, so i guess this is not much of a concern. Still, shouldn't we be seeing more marketing by now? You know..those big ass posters on skyscrapers? I'm probably worrying about nothing, cause we ARE getting the box-art reveal this month and that should hopefully mean the start of a bit more marketing. It's clear though that there was a whole lot more coverage and marketing for GTA IV compared to GTA V so far and i don't know..i guess i find that a bit worrisome. This is their biggest and most ambitious GTA yet, i guess you'd expect to see a bit more coverage on it. Unless Rockstar is simply staying true to what they said..about keeping plenty of information back. Look at the amount of coverage RDR, LA Noire and MP3 received, it was A LOT! Just like ya'll i'm so looking forward to this game, so much more than any other goddammn game this year, i just don't want any negative news regarding a release. Durden Posted January 16, 2013 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Let's just wait until February. If there's no date announced mid-way through February, then yes I will be a little worried. Personally I have faith that the release date will be announced with the box art this month. Also, the reason those games you mentioned revealed so much info was because people were unfamiliar with those games. And GTA IV was a huge change, as it was HD with a new engine. Noire are smaller profile games than GTA is - so of course that they were going to be getting a whole lot more coverage than GTA V currently is as GTA is a series that basically sells itself so there isn't much need to full-on publicize it as any little bit of information related to GTA V that Rockstar posts almost immediately blows up and finds itself on multiple other websites and fansites around the internet. Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire also got a whole lot more coverage than GTA IV ever did, and most of the coverage for GTA IV was in the form of previews from video game publications and that will probably be the same with GTA V IMO and as you said, Rockstar stated that they would be keeping a lot of information under-wraps during its pre-release phase. GTA SA was so exciting for me because I didn't have the internet at the time and all I knew about it was a bit from a magazine and a few screenshots online. It's indeed very plausible that we'll get a concrete release date with the box-art reveal, but it could also happen in February with a third trailer, if it happens in February that is. Sorry but you're out of your mind if you think February can go by with no release date and substantial news and still launch in Spring. We're not a good 5-6 months till launch. Keep in mind the Housers have mentioned they're not keen on releasing ridiculous amounts on info, and part of the experience is learning about the game when you play it. We already have the basic knowledge about the game, and seen a couple of trailers. That should be enough to let you know if you want it. But no, it's not about that anymore! But if we think of it as when they stated they would release the cover "later this month", that was a sign the game is definately getting released this spring. The flood gates opened for IV in the beginning of February 2008, and i see a similiar approach with the cover, teasers, another trailer for V coming at the same time. Rockstar is unpredictable, that means anything can happen... There's nothing to be worried about really... All we have to do is wait and see and talking about other things then "lack of infos" or "lack of the release date". We'll see when it will happen...
