Shyabang Shyabang
Technically, most of us on here are "old". According to historical documentation, humans weren't really meant to live beyond 40-50 maximum. There's a reason why old people are ugly; they're supposed to be dead. In the early 20th century, the global life expectancy average was only 31. Today it has more than doubled to 67.2 It's because the quality of life is much better now. I heard that people didn't take good care of themselves back then. And polio was a big problem. And medical technology wasn't as advanced as it is now even in the most advanced and wealthy countries of that time. This was before the time of antibiotics such as penecilin. And I believe that a severe global influenza at that time had a huge effect on the life expectancy. There are other wealthy countries today that used to be poor during the early 20th century and some of those countries even faced famine. I know that Korea was one of them. I still look like a teenager so I have no problem in befriending younger people. But I sometimes feel old when I talk to them. They're too young to remember the time before 9/11 and before the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. My dad listens to classical music. I went from listening to his music and the children's tv programs to listening to trance and rave via my radio. I didn't know of most of the 90s music until I started to browse youtube for 90s music. FAH-Q
Why did you even start an argument (Or try to) with Miami if you ended up contradicting that and having the same opinion? Do you realize how annoying you're being? What the hell are you talking about? I never tried to start an argument with anyone. I said I "FEEL" old when I play COD, I never said it IS old. I was actually just being friendly when I told MiamiViceCity 25 isn't old. I'm so confused right now.

If he was around this thread probably would have been shut down on the third page. @Playert aw man I forgot about that song lol, holy sh*t middle school galore, I'll match you with this: A younger and wildly less popular Dane Cook appears
TheGodDamnMaster
^"Rock the Dragon" is hardly Bruce Faulconer's best work. If it is even by him. And I hate to break it to you, but DKC2 was a far superior game. Dude, i'm just trying to post stuff that's relevant to my experiences Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as a dick. Also, anyone remember this? It's sad to look back at this because the Nerd has lost his magic. trip
Hey people, don't tell me this topic is already dying? Post some more stuff Really? Ok...I now get my butt poked when I go in for a simple doctors visit. If I didn't trim back my gray eyebrow hairs I would look like a mad scientist. My knees hurt...my hands hurt...my legs hurt...my feet hurt. If I wanted to I could pull off a bad ass comb over. I actually pay attention to the price of basic sh*t like bread and juice...and get cranky about it. My bank account pre-dates ATM cards and machines. Oy Vey... They were a pain in the ass. I had one for my SNES. I used to play it on an old wooden-frame TV in my basement. Whenever my friends came over to spend the night, we'd camp out down there and play Donkey Kong Country all night. MIKON8ERISBACK
When I was eight years old, I got my first TV in my bedroom. Back then, VHS was still somewhat mainstream and high definition television in Canada was almost non-existent. When I was six, we got a 50-something inch rear projection TV that took two strong men to get into the house and was the talk of the neighborhood. It costed nearly $5000 dollars not adjusted to inflation. Today, the manufacturing of rear projection TVs has almost ceased, even if they are HD models and are frequently found at the sides of roads and at E-waste recycling centers where they are shipped off to China to assist in the manufacturing of un-fixable throwaway garbage. And BTW: It was standard definition, however he had access to American DirecTV satellite service which gave us access to about 400 channels, which at the time, was amazing by Canadian standards. Yes, we did and still do fully pay for it. In September of 2007, it was replaced with a 52 inch Pioneer HD plasma with a DirecTV HD DVR which also costed about $5,000 dollars and was assembled in the United States using American and Japanese parts and is still going strong even though we're already exceeding the average time that people keep their TVs. Edward-Is-A-Flunky45
Being serious most of the times. I mean, after I moved in to a new city, I'm very serious, I just to settle in, I'm still knowing things. But yeah, A situation that makes me feel old is when I live around a people who never listened to 60's & 70's bands like Big Star, The Who, The Doors or Small Faces. I guess this happens to everyone who haves a great taste in music...... Or is it just me ?
Vega LVI
When I went away this summer, the resort I was at had this trivia game that requires four people to play. I sat down as the fourth player against kids who were all friends and were most likely sophmores or juniors in high school. I normally wouldn't play with people who are nearly eight or nine years younger than me, but I was waiting around to play the game for quite a while, so I decided to join on in. Most of the questions were relatively simple, most of them I answered correctly first before any of them, but they did a decent job on getting the questions. With that said, a few questions regarding pop culture they were either not born for or very young for popped up. One question asked, "Which of the following Green Day songs are not featured on their 1994 album, Dookie?" and the options were, "Chump", When I Come Around", "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and "Longview". Growing up with Green Day, I knew this like the back of my hand. It took me maybe three seconds to buzz in my answer and the three friends were all like, "What the f*ck is a 'Dookie?" They all got the answer wrong and after that was revealed, they one said, "I thought the only Green Day album was like American Idiot and that newer one." Right there, "I said to myself, there are eight (as of August, 2012) Green Day albums." There were a few other questions similar to the one above that are too long to post, but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm saying. After that game, I won something like 20,500 to 11,300 to 10,500 to 5,000. I felt as if I should be escorted out of the arcade with a wheelchair and a cane for when I get up.
