Realizing i haven't had vanilla coke in a decade.

I first played GTA 3 11 years ago.

Some People consider the lord of the rings trilogy nostalgic now...

I don't feel old, the only time I feel old is when I'm interacting with a child and they treat me like I'm a grown up. Then it hits me, I'm a f*cking grown up. I'm one of those people I used to look at when I was a kid. I'm all tall and have body hair, and I have my own bed time and can swear as much as I want. But at the same time I don't want to be older, I wanna stay young. I think part of the reason I shave pretty much all my hair off, is that on some sub-conscious level I have Michael Jackson syndrome. I mean I don't touch kids or have a pet chimpanzee, but I just don't want to grow up.

I know this is a few pages back, but being a very similar age to you, I can relate to this like f*ck.

A couple of months back I was round a friends house while visiting my hometown over the summer. Anyway, this lad's doing pretty well despite only being 20 as well: renting his own proper house, full time job, paying goddman council tax, and is in stable relationship with the mother of his little girl who just turned 1. We'd been having a laugh at his place when he had to go and pick up aforementioned girlfriend from something in his two seat car. I was left in charge of the child, she was sleeping in another room and they had a baby monitor. I stared at that f*cking baby monitor thing for twenty goddamn minutes because holy sh*t, I was responsible for another human life. A small fragile one. OH F*CK. That was something adults do.

On the point of wanting to stay young, I think you're only properly grown up and an adult when you start clinging to your youth. All the kids in here thinking they're grown up for their age are just faking it to look cool and be mature. It's only once you're actually mature that you realise it f*cking sucks: paying bills, planning sh*t (whether it's when to go to the shops to buy yet more washing up liquid or planning what you're going to do once uni/this job/whatever is over) and being nice to people you actively dislike because that's sh*t that adults do.

That said, I'm currently doing a work placement at Sky News and even the 25 year olds there make me feel really, really, really young. These are people whose career paths I'm gonna try and emulate and they seem so much more knowledgeable and just generally wiser than me and I've only got five years to get on that level. f*ck. I can't even cook real food nevermind organise a f*cking press conference.

Technically, most of us on here are "old".

According to historical documentation, humans weren't really meant to live beyond 40-50 maximum. There's a reason why old people are ugly; they're supposed to be dead.

In the early 20th century, the global life expectancy average was only 31. Today it has more than doubled to 67.2

Yeah but the life expectancy isn't 30 anymore so most of us aren't old.

I've noticed I have been here for 5 years. Also in two years I will be a quarter of a century old.

Well I'm 27 and although it's technically not 'old" as such when I look back on certain things it feels like it was a lifetime ago.

Oh, c´mon Miami, we are not old , I´m 26 and I still dating with 18-20 years old girls, age is a mind state, at least that´s what Lil Weasel says. biggrin.gif

I'm only 23 but I am starting to feel old as I can't relate to the younger generation. Had a conversation with a cousin of mine who is 15/16 and I had to have him explain maybe a third of what he was saying because I don't recognize the slang anymore. Also I just spent 45 minutes at the supermarket looking at Legos and other toys I wanted to buy so badly but ended up going home with another Brita jug, water filters, and tupperware. I've also been on GTAf a few months shy of a decade.

Legos, man that was my life as a kid. I wish I could still play with Legos, but it would just be weird. sad.gif

There's nothing wrong with being a lego enthusiast. In fact, I recently started to build my Eiffel Tower that I got for Christmas a few years back. Legos are an excellent time killer.

They even have a MASSIVE cult following over on NeoGaf.

Everytime I go on Call of Duty I feel old. Everyones always like "ooo youre 22, go get a life, your too old to be playing video games". Makes me feel old.

Yeah Same here, for once you're not being an annoying ass...

Oh wait!

Or when you're old enough to drink bartenders stop asking for I.D.

I still get I.D.'d at bars and when I buy alcohol.

I think I worded that wrong. When bartenders stop asking for I.D is when you start feeling old.

Although a couple of years ago I shaved and looked really young so I was still had to show I.D and they couldn't believe I was 25. ph34r.gif

Now I just let it go.

yeah, but 25 still isn't old.

Okay now you're being annoying again and you're contradicting yourself, you say at 22 you feel old while playing COD, the Miami points out how he;

"feels old at 25 when He stops getting asked for ID" and you tell him how;

"25 isn't even old"

...Yeah we know, He FEELS old, not that he is old, but it doesn't matter anyway because it is relative.

Then you say this...

Age is just a number anyway, its all about how old you feel

Okay, so now you're contradicting your contradiction where you started arguing with Miami and actually getting the point of the topic which is about FEELING OLD not how physically old you are.

Why did you even start an argument (Or try to) with Miami if you ended up contradicting that and having the same opinion? Do you realize how annoying you're being?

I'm only 23...

Say what?! mercie_blink.gif I presumed you were either my age, 25, or maybe 26, somewhere around that mark. Then again, I'm a terrible judge of age so maybe you look like every other 23-year-old.

I thought I was the only one...I still build legos from time to time, of course I didn't tell anybody about it since it's a bit.....awkward confused.gif especially when you are 17..Lego has been a big part of my childhood, I just can't let that go.

Most if my colleagues are early-30s professionals. There's an astonishing quantity of Lego littered around our office.

See, when/if you have kids, you can buy all the cool toys and play with them....with your kids! One of my sons was whinning because I was playing with his remote-control cop car (with LCD lights and realistic sounds!) and I kinda blocked him out and kept playing with it. My wife scolded me and told me I had to share! lol.gif So then, I sat around and built stuff out of Lego's for a while. Until my son karate-chopped them down. All was lost. cryani.gif

Someone pin this topic. So... much... nostalgia. Thanks for sharing such great memories. Maybe i'm a bit too much caught up in the past as well, but really, life was sweet back in the day. People nowadays live in their f*cking bubbles. Makes me feel like an asshole trying to be polite by greeting strangers but getting snubbed in the process. That used to be common courtesy, you cross eyes, just greet each other... guess not anymore.

You guys really brought some major sh*t to the table here dudes.

- The PS1 intro (mannn that takes me back!!)

- Cow & Chicken intro (can NOT stop laughing at that. Thanks for sharing!)

- Ren & Stimpy (simply awesome as hell)

- Power Rangers... GTA 2... Mambo Nr.5... I'm Blue (WOW)... Lego's... SNES... all of which i totally forgot about. I love seeing this stuff all over again. This is a great topic. icon14.gif

Here's my slice of greatness i just came up with:

I really hope this doesn't lag the whole page, but i could've posted 10 times more. Some of these nearly teared me up tbh.

I am only 23 years old, still feeling young and in the prime of life, but i can't help but feel somewhat astranged from the direction the world is heading in. Especially when talking to teenagers, this becomes painfully obvious.

Oh, and seriously, 13-year-olds posting in here is beyond me lol

^"Rock the Dragon" is hardly Bruce Faulconer's best work. If it is even by him.

And I hate to break it to you, but DKC2 was a far superior game.

... Legos ...

...Legos ... Legos,...

... Legos ...

...Lego's...

... Legos...

Somewhere in Denmark a former GTAForums mod is rocking back and forth having an aneurism at the disgraceful pluralisation of Lego.

But back on the rails, I noticed this just this morning when I woke up with a sore knee joint and I couldn't work out how it became sore... f*cking age.

The have quite the collection. On the third page [3/4ths down] of that forum they show all the new figures, I'm used to old school Legos when you had to use your imagination - not simply have every different type of person at your fingertips.

As for that video, I don't want to be that guy. confused.gif

At least you´re still alive, you should be glad for that.
