I don't feel old, the only time I feel old is when I'm interacting with a child and they treat me like I'm a grown up. Then it hits me, I'm a f*cking grown up. I'm one of those people I used to look at when I was a kid. I'm all tall and have body hair, and I have my own bed time and can swear as much as I want. But at the same time I don't want to be older, I wanna stay young. I think part of the reason I shave pretty much all my hair off, is that on some sub-conscious level I have Michael Jackson syndrome. I mean I don't touch kids or have a pet chimpanzee, but I just don't want to grow up.

Being an adult sucks. I used to hate school growing up, but it would seem like a very appealing alternative to the workforce nowadays.

The only reason we look back at school now and think it was the best years of our lives is all the wonderful memories we have with our friends and such.

It's certainly not all those Maths and English quizzes is it? Although there are difficulties associated with being an adult I don't think I'd have it any other way.

Think about this one. What makes me feel old, is the idea that we, who grew up in the 90's, witnessed the internet being introduced. Imagine the conversation you'll have with your kids later on, and they'll be like "There was NO internet when you were a kid???", absolutely unable to grasp that thought. It's the equivalent of life before television... lol

This sound should bring back some memories:

Man, those were the days. Now this noise is considered dubstep. Oy Va-Jay-jay!

Speaking of old things, I found a tape I had made when I was about 10 years-old. I'd recorded the songs off the radio and did that thing where you catch the first second of the DJ talking over it. If I remember correctly the song was Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen". Amazing song. I let it play over and over whilst I slept.

Haha yeah I remember doing that, was that even considered Piracy? I remember when my sister used to annoy me I'd take whatever tape she listened to the most at the time and record over it with whatever was on the radio to annoy her back.

The internet used to be a luxury and I had to ask my parents if I could go on it because back then it was all dial up and I could only stay on it for a certain amount of time. Now it's something I use everyday.

This, I remember my mum saying things like "you can't use the internet tonight because dad's expecting an important phonecall" or wanted to make a phonecall or whatever. I also remember finding it amazing that my Playstation could play CD's as well, and if you pressed one of the buttons on the controller, you could cycle through all those trippy equalizer things.

I didn't really have many friends in my school years, so it's not so much that. I think it's because of how routine everything was. You knew what to expect and all preparations were done for you as a minor. Plus it wouldn't hurt to go back and have advanced knowledge.

If I could I'd invent a time machine aka a Delorean and go back to 1990 to tell my 4 year old self everything about the future. tounge.gif

In all seriousness most of what I remember from school was having a good time with my friends. The actual academic side is a complete blur. I was kind of an avergae student that didn't amount to much anyway.

Honestly I think this basically sums up my most fond childhood memory. I watched the movie so many times the VHS tape eventually screwed up.

I think no matter how old you are at some point and time something happens that makes you feel old.

I'm a 26 year old college freshman, so I constantly am reminded of how old I am. Here are some examples.

I was the only person in a 28 person class that had seen Top Gun.

I spent 2 hours trying to explain what pogs were.

My funny movie quote jokes go over everyone's head making me look like a jackass-In biology:"Chlorophyll... More like bore-a-fill!"

Dude don't worry, IT'S NOT YOU - IT'S THEM. Everytime I talk to people born after 1990, they have no clue about anything from before their time, even their youth icons they can't remember. I blame the internet.

I think we, as the last generation growing up without the internet, seem to be aware of things that proceeded even our time because.... I don't know why but there must be something to it.

Well, I'll be turnin 17 in two weeks but what bunts me into my oldage days is when I'm walking around in a shopping mall, the customers who are doing shopping would call me when I walk across them and enquire me the cost of the product thinking I am an emloyee in that shop. This gives me thin wisps of hair protruding from beneath my flat cap perched at a jaunty angle on my head. Oye vay!

My PC is allergic to windows 7 and windows 8 and so my current OS is XP. Whenever, my friends vist my house, they would burst into laughter on seeing my PC's OS and say, "Dude, the world's growin, when are you gonna grow up?"

this would give me a wizened appearance. Double Oye vay!

I only feel old when I hang around my <17 year old friends, go for walks around the neighborhood, act immature for fun, and then I feel young again when I go clubbing with my overage friends.

Edit: Just realized Bring It On is 13 years old. Fcuk

When they start saying to you "can I help you sir?" that's when you start to feel it. wink.gif

Or when you're old enough to drink bartenders stop asking for I.D.

F that right in the sh*tter! I refuse to move on from XP. I've tried the others and didn't like them one bit. 7 isn't too bad, but XP is still my preferred choice. If anyone insults my computer I simply eject them from the household.

Well, now that I reflect on my school days.. I wish I could go back and start over. The things I know now.. pfffftttt, I would own that f*cking school!

I graduated in '03.. damn, it felt bad just typing that. Now look at me.. work my ass off, always broke when I need money the most, knees aching, back screwed, mentally f*cked from past events, alcoholic, have a son.. sh*t, list goes on. But I don't regret anything.. life is good at the moment.

I think I worded that wrong. When bartenders stop asking for I.D is when you start feeling old.

Although a couple of years ago I shaved and looked really young so I was still had to show I.D and they couldn't believe I was 25. ph34r.gif

Now I just let it go.

-90's cartoons were the best and that's not just an opinion. We will never have another Rocko's Modern Life or Ren and Stimpy.

I grew up in the 90s and think both of those shows are terrible. I watched Rocko when I was drugged out of my mind after having my wisdom teeth removed, and it did nothing for me. If you can't enjoy it while on medical grade painkillers, it's no good. What you say is completely an opinion, in fact. I'd take Adventure Time or Regular Show over either of those any day. Needless to say, you're not in the target audience for modern cartoons.

I feel old (at 22) when I can no longer derive joy from playing Pokemon. I haven't really fallen in love with a new band since Tegan and Sara in 2010.

From September until New Years I never woke up after noon, longest streak in my life, and I'm working on another one since then. My perpetually-undersober friend gave me sh*t, when I wanted him to leave my apartment, because it was 'too early'...at 4am.

I can no longer tell employers I'm available "at all times." I've had 4 jobs that I've stayed at for any notable amount of time. 2 of them were factory jobs, and one of them, I kind of liked.

I had a kid in November. That makes me feel old. Don't know how it couldn't. I've been unemployed since October, so I've had ample time to soak in the implications and recognize that she is a reflection of myself and my ability as a man. My sole contribution to society, she alone justifies my very existence. I didn't want anything like that until I was in my 30s or so.

I also realized I'm a LOT like my dad. He also became a father at 22 (though he did it on purpose). And just the way we are, we're really similar. Between him and my daughter, I can see my past and my future at once. It's a unique sensation.

On the other hand, people often find it hard to recognize their own youth. For instance, when my daughter is 18 and no longer my problem, I'll only be 40. That's actually pretty young. I see my brother living through the worst time in his life at 30 and I see that so much can change in the next few years, and that many many stories are still yet to be written, good or bad.

I can stand in the cold for 8 hours a day and not get a cold. Work a 40 hour work week and only feel kinda sh*tty by Friday. I can still burn a whole day playing Skyrim (though the unemployment is the big factor there). I still drive my first car, 7 years later. I only have any personal experience living under 2 different presidents (I was 10 when GW was elected and politics were the farthest thing from my mind). I'm still close enough to my high school years to remember exactly how good they were and not be blinded by nostalgia.

I guess I don't feel that old, nor do I feel particularly young. I simply feel.

I still get id'ed at R rated movies. I finially stopped showing them my id and just ask for their manager - they never get the manager. Having an 18 year old tell me I can't see a movie is just weird.

Oh God, I used to love that song as a kid. My friends used to tease me by saying the lyrics were "I could pee apple pie". I remember I bought the CD just because it had that one song on it. Same for the Who Let the Dogs Out? CD.
